Product Description

INYOpools highly recommends replacing the shaft seal, o-rings and gaskets when replacing your motor, if you use your old shaft seal it will not mate up properly with the new pump and may leak. The best value is to go with one of INYO's tune up kits which include the shaft seal and all O-rings, gaskets and lubricant for your pump.

This Tune Up Kit Works on These Pumps:

  • Jandy JHP + JHPU

Tune Up Kit Includes:

  • Shaft Seal
  • Diffuser Cone O-Ring
  • Housing O-Ring
  • Lid O-Ring
  • Lubricant

I got this kit for a 1.5 jandy jhp but it still leaks a very tiny amount at the shaft seal. Do you think there is another shaft seal that will stop that leak?
 Reply

A  Answered on 10/7/2019 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, John. There is only one size shaft seal for the Jandy JHP series pump. If the pump still leaks and you did not touch the face of the seal, the Mounting Bracket could be warped. At that point, the Mounting Bracket Kit - R0556000 will have to be replaced.

So we do not show a JPH pump model in our system but if you mean the Jandy JHP model then yes this kit would work.

Hello, I have a Jandy Stealth pump and I have to replace the motor, which is a AOSmith 1.5. HP. So you've already confirmed which motor is the correct replacement model. Now I need the seal kit, but I saw in the Q&A that go kits are not available for that pump. Now here is my question.. what do I need for seals, etc to complete this repair? I need to get this equipment ordered soon. Thanks so much.

Tamra, Do you know which model Jandy Stealth you have? There are 4 versions of the pump. Also, the shaft seal can vary depending on the serial number. At the very least, you will need the shaft seal and housing gasket.

Just want to make sure this will fit my Century B230SE. Nothing wrong with the motor, just water leaking from under it at a rate of 2 inches of pool water level every 30 hours.

Hi, Could you send us a photo showing your complete pump including where the pipe goes in and out of the pump. You can simply reply to this email with that photo or send to upload@inyopools.com this will allow us to suggest the proper seal kit.

What would cause a pressure drop from 20 to 12 pounds and how do I fix it
 Reply

A  Answered on 7/26/2016 by InyoPools Product Specialist Scott W.

Sounds look you either have an air leak somewhere or your pipes or filter is clogged up. So with the leak, obviously need to find the leak. With the pipes, make sure that the pipes are clear by blowing them out and with the filter, cleaning the sand, grids or cartridge depending on what kind of filter you have.

Hey there - Would this be the correct kit for the Jandy Stealth 1.5. Pump Model # shpf1.5? Thanks
 Reply

A  Answered on 7/20/2016 by InyoPools Product Specialist Alan M.

This would be the correct Tune Up Kit as long as the model of your pump is the Jandy Stealth JHP or JHPU and was manufactured between 2002-2008. Since your Jandy Stealth is model SHPF, this tune up will not be compatible. There is currently not a Tune Up Kit for the model you have.

My pump is not priming even after cleaning impeller. Will purchasing this kit aid in fixing that problem?
 Reply

A  Answered on 10/15/2014 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

The seal kit can help with loss of prime. I can't guarantee that it will solve your problem. The loss of prime could be from an air leak at the valves or plumbing in front of the pump.

I recently changed my pool motor and gaskets. I made sure to lubricate all the gaskets with vaseline. A few days later water is leaking from the pump. What did I do wrong? Help please!!
 Reply

A  Answered on 2/13/2012 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

You never want to use vaseline on any rubber gaskets or o-rings. Vaseline is petroleum based and will deteriorate the rubber quickly. Whenever you change the motor on a pool pump it is recommended that you replace the gaskets and shaft seal as well. A >Go-kit contains the shaft seal, packet of non-petroleum based lubricant and gaskets you will need for your pump. If you already have the gaskets, you can purchase >Magic Lube.

Jandy Stealth 2.5 pump motor bearing burned out

Removed pump motor as stated in previous post. Replaced old motor with new, installed new gaskets and o-rings treated with the sealant. No leaks, stronger flow and quiet running motor.
