How do I secure the in ground leaf cover in place? Can it be used alone or do I need a solid winter cover underneath?

The in ground leaf net covers are he held in place with water tubes. The leaf net covers are not intended to be used as a stand alone winter cover. Our in-ground leaf net covers have an extra 4-foot overlap and water tube loops for a secure fit over your in-ground winter cover.

We want to use a leaf net pool cover during the year before putting winter cover on. Also, is it ok to add shock to the pool through the top of leaf cover?

The leaf net covers are not intended to be used as a stand alone cover. If a significant amount of leaves accumulate on the cover, the weight will cause the cover to sink into the pool. If you need to apply shock to the pool while the cover is on, I would recommend peeling back the cover at one corner of the pool and using a liquid shock.

Cons: should include water bags to hold it down
I tried this leaf cover in lieu of a more expensive heavier cover for the winter, and im very pleased with it. It is light weight and took only minutes to install, and is doing a great job so far.
