What is the difference between the clear and the blue solar blanket?

First, the clear solar blanket is thicker than the blue; the clear is 14 mil thick while the blue is 12 mil. Secondly, the clear allows the sun to pass through the blanket thus heating the water better. The blue blanket tends to absorb the heat itself so the blanket gets hot, not the water. Lastly, the clear blanket has a 6 year warranty as opposed to the 5 year warranty for the blue.

Does the solar cover come with an overlap like a winter cover does?

No, the solar cover does not come with an overlap. A solar cover is designed to sit on top of the water's surface and fits on the inside perimeter of the pool wall.

Hi, The Clear and Blue Solar Blankets will offer the same level of water evaporation protection. The clear cover will allow more sun light to pass through heating the pool faster.

do you have a solar blanket at 16 by 36?
How heavy would it be and can use it while the pump is running?

There is not a 16 X 36 size available. You would need to purchase an 18 X 36 and cut to fit. The weight of the blanket is approximately 38 lbs. You can absolutely use the blanket while the pump is running.

Very glad I bought the solar blanket. It does extend swimming season by heating the pool water. It also reduces evaporation.

I left the heat cover on for a week and a half while we were on vacation and when we returned the water was 94 degrees without using the heater.

This item arrived fast as others from this website did. It is in a sturdy bag and not damaged. This is the third solar blanket I have had. This blue one is lighter and more flexible than the clear one. nice blue color when on the pool. Works well with the heat pump.

Excellent value. Year round use. Helps keep leaves out of pool as well as has a nice appearance. Easy to remove and does not interfere with the pool sweep. By putting a couple of pool play rings under the blanket the rain runs off and I get no ice on the pool in the winter.

I bought the pool cover because it was the thickness I was looking for (my last cover was like a brick). I wanted something that I could take on/off fairly quickly. I ordered the pool cover thinking it was going to take some time to arrive, so it would give me a few days to clean the pool up. A couple of days after ordering, there it is, on my front porch and the item was exactly as described. This is 2 for 2. I found my site for pool supplies.
