The NW200, Above-ground Pool Cover Pump 350gph, comes with a manual on/off switch. We do carry a cover pump with an automatic shutoff feature, which automatically turns the pump on and off, if water is sensed on the pool cover. Thanks for your question!

Hello Carlos, This NW200 is a ABOVE-GROUND POOL COVER PUMP that will drain water not circulate, it's used for draining water on top of cover (for heavy rain that sits on top of cover). Drains 350 Gallons a minute.

Once pumping and discharging, can you turn off the pump and siphon through the pump with the discharge hose at a lower elevation, or does the pump have to be running for water to move through the pump.

Hi. The pump has to be powered in order for it to move water through it.

Pros: pumps fast, quiet
I hooked up the pump, plugged it in and watched it drain the water off the top of the cover quickly, it is very quiet too.

Pros: Pumps well.
Cons: Not heavy enough and it sucks down on the cover and quits pumping.
Works well, I had to put it in a wire basket to keep it from sucking down on the cover and quit pumping and I had to weight it down a little because it would not create an indention for the water to run into, but it pumps well for the price.

This cover pump was intended for above ground pool uses however, I use it for my in ground pool and it is fantastic! I was not only pleased with the efficiency of the pump but also the service from InYo Pool. They got the item to my home within 2 days, great service!
