What is the difference between the clear and the blue solar blanket?

First, the clear solar blanket is thicker than the blue; the clear is 14 mil thick while the blue is 12 mil. Secondly, the clear allows the sun to pass through the blanket thus heating the water better. The blue blanket tends to absorb the heat itself so the blanket gets hot, not the water. Lastly, the clear blanket has a 6 year warranty as opposed to the 5 year warranty for the blue.

Does the solar cover come with an overlap like a winter cover does?

No, the solar cover does not come with an overlap. A solar cover is designed to sit on top of the water's surface and fits on the inside perimeter of the pool wall.

What color are the Magni-Clear solar covers? They appear to be silver in color.

Is it necessary to cover the blanket while stored on the reel

It is not necessary to cover the blanket while stored on the reel. You can if you choose to though to keep from to much sun wearing away at it.

LOVE this solar pool cover! It works so much better than the blue ones we've had in the past. It's thicker and a much better quality, and it really heats the water up perfectly. Very fast shipping, too! Highly recommend.

Cover was initially very sturdy but eventually broke down and deteriorated in less than 1 year. I'm unclear on what caused the quality to decline. I do not recommend this product.

Pros: easy to handle
Cons: attaching it to my odd shaped pool for high winds is a problem
Yhe project is best for warming. I am also trying to cut down evaporation. I have high winds here so I am still thinking about how to secure the cover. Its a work in progress.

The cover was what I expected and it seems to work just fine, it would have been better if the straps to attach it to the roller would have been included or maybe suggested upon check out by a pop up or something. Other than that, seems to be a fine solar cover.
