Part # Y206000
Dimensions 8" L x 5" W x 5" D
Alternate Part #'s Y20-6000
I have a 6004 illuminator with the y20-6000 light assembly. Tried multiple new assemblies and bulbs, still no light. Meter testing, i am getting 268 V AC at the light socket. Believe this should be 120V and I'm frying bulbs as a result when plug in new. Any feedback you can provide as to why i'm getting 268V AC? Is it necessary to replace the entire 6004 unit, possibly due to a bad transformer?
Hi, Rob. The 6004 unit requires 120 VAC, if you're getting 268 VAC then you will need to double check the input voltage.
What should the voltage and wattage be coming from the light assembly to the bulb for a fiberstar 6004?
Hello David, This unit requires 120 volt 60 hz only.
We have the Fiberstar 6004 model pool light. The light quit working and I have no idea why. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks,
Hi, Robert. It could be a few things, I would recommend following the troubleshoot options in the Fiberstar 6004 Owner's Manual.
I bought the y20-6000 bulb but its too long for my enclosure. i have a series 6000 fiber star. are there shorter vesions of them. i see in the pictures that the bulb looks about an inch smaller than mine
Hi, Scott. The manufacturer recommends purchasing the entire lamp assembly to prevent this issue. We do not carry just the replacement bulb.
hAVE A fIBERSTAR RM 6000 NEED A TECH OR, A CHEAP REPLACEMENT FOR IT! bOUGHT THE HoUSE LAST MONTH, IN northern fLORida, just want to fix ix it. Suggestions . tks
Yes, the replacement for that is made by S.R. Smith and is part number 3TR-PT-6000.
I need a Bulb # Y20-6000.....Need it quickly, and I live in London Ontario Canada....do you know a dealer here that may have parts
I am not aware of a dealer in your area. I would recommend calling Next Step Products at 407-857-9900 to see if they know of any of their vendors in your area.
What is the resistance for the 6004 bulb. I want to check if the bulb is bad
Hi Matt, The resistance of the bulb is 96 ohms.
I have a fiberstrs 6000 not as brite as should be what could this be?
Hi Mary, You may need to report the fibers, instructions can be found in the Fiberstars 6004 Installation Manual.
no fiber light around pool at all. Fan works, light works. Trying to get more fiber up so I can cut it off & have new fiber ends. Sounds like I have to loosen big conduit nut to free fibers. When I try to loosen nut the whole port assembly turns with it. I can't push it up thru 4ft. of 3/4" conduit. Tried install instructions on pg 4 but that does tell how to replace burnt fiber ends. Thanks, Dan
Hi Dan, You can not replace the burned fibers you will have to cut them off using a hot knife
I have the 6008 model but my lights are real dim what should I do?
Hi, Re-porting the fibers can resolve the dimming of the light. Instructions can be found on page 4 of the 6004 Installation Manual.
Will this fit a 6004FS? What is the difference between a 6004 AS and 6004FS unit?
Hi Ron, According to SR Smith the 6004"FS" is an indicator for FiberStar which has been acquired SR Smith. The 6004FS is same as the 6004, the 6004AS is the auto-synch model which you can synch more than one unit together.
Anyone has the electrical diagram of the Fiberstar 6004 model? No fan noise, no light. Fuse checked good. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks
Luis,We have the 6004 installation manual on our site. If that doesn't help, you might want to give Fiberstars a call to troubleshoot the unit with them.
I just need the light bulb only...is their a part no. for the bulb only...
Hi Patric, The bulb is only includes in the Lamp Assembly (Y206000).
I've got three model 6000; pool rep says they need to be replaced. It's about 15-yrs old. Is that about the expected life span? Can it be replaced with a model 6004?
Hello, 15 years sounds about right for the lifespan of the illuminator. The Fiberstars 6004 illuminator (4 color) is the current version of the 6000 illuminator.
I have a Fiberstars fiber optic pool light model 6008. Is this the correct lamp assembly unit for Model 6008. Thanks for your help.
Hi Luke, Yes the Y206000 lamp assembly is the correct lamp for the Fiberstars 6008.
how do I know if the bulb is bad? is there a burnt piece inside? what would I trouble shoot, if I change the fuse, and it still does not come on?
Hi Floyd, There is a few troubleshooting steps you can do that is in the Fiberstar Owner's Manual. If you're still having problems you can contact Fiberstar at (800)327-7877.
Lamp assembly flickers but will not come on
Lamp "Restrike" When turning the system off and then turning it immediately back on, it may take 1 to 3 minutes before the lamp comes back on. This process allows the lamp to cool down and then restart. This is a normal function of the Metal-Halide lamp system that the Fiberstars 6004 / 6004-AS illuminator uses.-THE UNIT SHUTS OFF AFTER A FEW MINUTES THEN COMES BACK ON Check to see if the air vents are blocked. Refer to the above drawing to make sure the vents are clear Turn off the power and remove the two screws securing the cover and check for an obstruction in the cooling fan
My 6008 pool light powers on but the bulb on the inside of the unit doesn't light nor does the light in the pool.
Hi Rick, You will have to contact S.R. Smith at 1.800.824.4387 to troubleshoot where the issue is, whether the bulb needs to be replace or another issue could be causing the issue.
Hi, I have a fiberstars 6004 on my pool, I need a replacement bulb, do you sell them or know a reputable place I could order one from? thank you.
Hi Mike, the bulb by itself cannot be changed on the Fiberstars 6004 illuminator. You would require the bulb assembly on this page which we have in stock and could ship out right away.
the colors are not showing up as clearly as they were when new. the light w/color wheel was installed in 1999. Do I need a new bulb or a new color wheel or both?
I would first start off of with a new lamp assembly, if you did not see an imrovement after that replacement then the next thing I would try is the color wheel.
How many watts is this bulb?
Brent, This bulb is 150 watts
(4 out of 5 stars) Pricey but it gets the job done.

Pros: Works well, easy to install
Cons: An expensive part but cheaper on INYO than many other sites and fast service
Initially I was hoping I could just replace the light bulb but the more I looked around it seemed like buying the entire lamp assembly was my only option. Contacted the place that installed my pool and they were charging $30 more for it plus I'd have to drive and pick it up so this was the best bet. Very easy to install, maybe took 5 minutes. Once it got dark I tried the lights and they worked just like new so this definitely did the trick.
(5 out of 5 stars) Easy to install replacement lamp assembly

INYO had the best price. The item came quickly and was easy to track. It only took a phillips screw driver to install. Once the lamp assembly was in, it worked perfectly. I would order from them again.
