Review the Technology

LEDs (light emitting diodes) are small semiconductor devices that convert electrical energy directly into a discrete color of light. High brightness LEDs, which yielded performance increases allowing LEDs to cross the threshold from a mere source of indication to a source of illumination. LEDs started showing up everywhere - in exit signs, messaging boards, traffic signals and automotive rear brake lights. Finally, in the early 1990s, LEDs took yet another leap in performance. More importantly during this time, the advent of the long-awaited blue LED provided the missing link in the visible spectrum. Leveraging the many LED advancements, patented Chromacore® technology marries the inherently digital nature of these semiconductor-based light sources with the intelligence of a microprocessor, which controls all aspects of illumination including color, brightness, and special effects in both stand alone and networked environments.

So how does ColorLogic work?

The wizardry behind ColorLogic starts with the light source, consisting of clusters of LEDs, which are then arranged into channels of control. For example, a channel might contain a group of LEDs of one color, such as red. A second channel might be made of green LEDs. A third of blue LEDs. A microprocessor, with Chromacore inside, manages the intensity of the LEDs and displays the twelve preset programs.

Ease of operation has been designed into the microprocessor to offer unmatched simplicity when cycling through the 12 preset programs with either a single switch or with a Hayward wireless device.

How do you synchronize two or more Color Logic lights?
 Reply

A  Answered on 10/3/2006 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

The Color Logics lights will synchronize when they are wired to the same switch.  To synchronize the circuit boards inside the lights, you need to turn the switch off for at least 10 and no more than 14 seconds.  When you turn the switch back on, the lights should be on the same color rotation.

For a color-changing LED light, how do I switch between the different settings with just a standard light switch?
 Reply

A  Answered on 1/20/2012 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

The LED lights are designed to move to the next programmed setting each time you turn the switch on and off.  This will toggle through the different color settings and shows.
