Hi, I know what you're talking about. You can replace your existing Drain Cover with the Paramount SDX Retro Gunite Cover or Vinyl Cover which is compliant with the VGB Act.

I need a drain cover for my 35 year old fiberglass pool. Broken one is SP1048-C. This is one piece flat with two screws 6 inches apart. Would your cover Hayward WGK 1048E fit or do you have a replacement for one I have

Hello David. The Hayward Drain Cover SP1048-E has been replaced with the Hayward Main Drain Cover WGX1048E. This new drain cover conforms to the Federal VGB Act of December 2007. The WGX1048E is currently in stock and available.
