What prevents water from leaking through the pumping mechanism and shorting out the motor or electrical circuits?
The shaft seal prevents water from leaking into the motor. If you notice water dripping from the motor you should replace the shaft seal.
How can I be sure that the Max-flo pump is safe electrically speaking. I worry about water getting to the motor or electrical components and sending deadly shocks to the pool. I've had the pool 30 yrs and replaced the pump once. Never thought about it till I had a granddaughter? Thanks.
Electrocution from a pool pump would by highly unlikely. We would recommend contacting an electrician to make sure everything is bonded and grounded correctly.
