How many hours per day should I run my pump?

There are many factors to consider; bather load, gallons of water, pump horsepower, type and size of filter just to name a few. A good guideline is 8-10 hours a day. On the cooler days and early and late season, you can cut the run time down to 4-6 hours because there is usually less swimmers and cooler water requires less chemicals. In peak season, when it is the hottest, raising the run time to 10-12 hours per day will help to keep the pool clean and circulating during it’s time of heaviest use.

I purchased this pump to replace the single speed super pump on my EC65 filter/stand combo. The pump fits the stand and has the same form factor but the XS pump outlet is 2” (larger than the original super pump which is 1.5”). With this filter and stand combo using the provided adapter bushings throws the plumbing alignment off. I purchased a replacement pump outlet elbow SPX1485B because I cracked the old one trying to make it fit, thinking I would have to hacksaw an adapter bushing to make it work but like magic the part in its original Hayward factory bag included a separate elbow that had 2” outlet threads. There is no part number for the 2” elbow that I can find and the local pool store tried to sell me the 1 1/2” one in a torn open bag (missing the 2”one) fortunately I have an issue with pre opened parts ..
