How does this move from high speed to low speed? Is this the same as the programable pumps that our utility company is touting? What is the difference in performance as to energy savings?

Hi Wayne, You would have to have a Dual Speed Timer (T106R) to use with your existing pool timer or you can use the Pentair Dual Speed Toggle Switch (79129900) which would allow you to manually switch speeds. With a Dual Speed it would run on 3450 RPM which is full Speed or 1725 RPM. When on low speed that's where the energy savings come into play. At full speed it will use 10 amps and on low speed it will use 3.5 amps.
