On Pentair 520272 Temperature Sensor when do I know when is defective and if is, do I need to replace both, the solar and the water sensors?

Hi. You can test ohm resistance or compare the readings from what the sensor is registering to the actual temp.

The 521590 Pentair Solar touch is not working properly. The system status light is green (Normal) but I can not adjust the pool temperature. I feel that I need to replace the temperature sensors, the water sensor is connected to a pipe and the roof solar sensor is not connected to anything just laying there on the roof. Do I need to replaced the unit or both sensors?

Hi. If you're unable to increase or decrease the temperature, the sensors may not be the issue. Since the system does not detect an issue with the sensors you can manually test the sensors using the info on page 24 of the SolarTouch Solar System Installation/User Manual. You can replace both sensors if they're bad.

Have a GVA-24 Valve Actuator and the "heat light" does not come on in the control panel. The actuator works but it does not change rotation when you move the thermostat all the way up or down. Is this a internal problem or is it a roof sensor?

Hello, Unfortunately,  we are not certified Pentair reps to properly troubleshoot this unit for you. We recommend contacting the manufacturer with that question. You can reach them at 1-800-831-7133
