Is it possible to operate the K70405 under a solar cover?
Do I have to remove the ladder so it will not hang up on it?

It is possible to run the Kreepy Krauly under your solar cover most of your hose should be under water. The cover may move a bit if you have to hook into your pool skimmer, but I know people have used the cleaner with their cover on. The ladder also should not get in the way. Give it a try, if it does get in the way then remove the ladder.

Pros: efficient economical
Cons: still gets stuck on the intake
i have not had a pool sweep for the last 18 months so i was very excited to get my cleaner and you can imagine what my pool looked like spotless in 24 hours

Pros: Direct suction. No bags to cleaner on unit.
I have used the Kreepy Krauly for over 15 years. It is still the best cleaner on the market.
