FEATURES
My Kreepy Krauly doesn't seem to be able to move along the pool this year. We have just opened and when closed last year everything was fine with it. I have tried connections through the skimmer and the vacuum system and both seem to be working. I can see water moving through the hose and hear Kreepy suctioning. Any ideas?

The most common problem is the filter. Depending on the type you have ( cartridge,DE or sand ) you can try this. If you have a DE or sand filter, put the backwash valve on re-circulate. This will simply take the water from the pool and redirect straight back, bypassing the filter. If you have a cartridge, please remove the element and seal the tank back up. Run the systems for a few minutes and see if the cleaner wakes up. If it does, the filter is the issue. If there is still a problem, there may be a leak in one of the tubes or the flapper is having an issue. But please try the filter experiment first.

It sounds like your impeller attached to the motor is partially clogged with small debris, this is common in the spring when tree's Bud out , remove the motor from the basket usually 4 bolts and pull the motor out which will expose the impeller pull the debris out of impeller then reattach ( prime the basket with water ) & restart pump !! don't be intimidated very easy to do. during the opening of pool....to get the bulk of debris from the pool..is it best to vac on waste. to remove the materials, then return to filtering????

Hi. Yes, I would recommend vacuuming to waste to get most of the debris out of the pool.
