The Raypak Digital gas heater comes with a microprocessor based thermostat control. This control allows you to set your pool or spa temperature precisely at your favorite setting just by pressing an up or down temperature control button. The Digital display gives you a constant read out of your pool water temperature. Just set it, and forget it! Truly simple.
Troubleshooting a gas heater has never been easier. The Raypak Digital has on-board diagnostic controls that let the user and the service professional know what is going on with the heater at all times. In the event that you would ever have a problem with the heater, the digital display will show where the problem is in the control circuit. It's like having a service technician built into every heater!
The Raypak Digital is compatible with most major pool control and remote systems on the market today. Any two-wire or three-wire remote can connect to the Raypak Digital and be integrated into the pool control system of your choice.
The Raypak Digital has the best outdoor design in the market today. With over 50 years in designing and building gas heaters, Raypak has put all that experience into its newest heater design. No need for fans to combat drafting problems, the Raypak Digital was designed for outdoor installations with its exclusive low profile design. It is so thoughtfully and carefully designed it actually protects itself from the things that tend to stifle ordinary pool and spa heaters: falling leaves, wind, airborne debris, rain, downdrafts, updrafts, sleet, snow, etc. In fact it is so efficiently designed it ensures uninterrupted heating performance regardless of all but the most extreme weather conditions. Built Raypak tough. Built to last.
One look will tell you that the Raypak Digital is different! The look is contemporary. The design is advanced. And inside and out it's engineered to last. The attractive forest green and charcoal gray panels complement the latest pool and spa equipment designs. Raypak's original "pagoda top" design will keep the heater operating even in extreme wind conditions and downdrafts.
The Raypak Digital has a polyester coated, non-corrosive cabinet that is more durable than solventborne and waterborne coated metal cabinets. Every piece of sheet metal that gets powder coated goes through a 7-stage wash system making certain the powder paint has a perfect bond. Underneath the tough and beautiful finish you will find galvanized metal that offers superior rust prevention and years of durable service.
The Raypak Digital incorporates the latest in header design technology. Raypak's state-of-the-art engineering department utilized the latest in 3-D computer aided design to engineer the part for optimal performance. Polymer resin headers prevent rust stains from harming your pools surface giving you years of trouble-free swimming pleasure
This Raypak Digital heater has cupro-nickel fin tube heat exchangers for added protection against aggressive water chemistry. Although rare, there are certain applications, like health club spa's, where copper is just not the best choice. Cupro-nickel offers superior tolerance to bad and fluctuating water chemistry, thanks to a harder surface and thicker walled fin tube.

Hello, I have an old P-R335A-EN, that is 19yrs old & is rusting out. Is this the best replacement, or is there another unit I should be looking at? Thank you
Hello, this would be the best fit for your situation.
I am replacing the same unit that is approximately 10 years old. My current unit has the piping coming out of the left (from the front) side of the unit. Is that an option on this unit? Thanks.
Hi, Thomas. These units all come with the inlet/outlet assembly on the right. it can be changed to the left, however, that process will have to be done by an authorized professional.
Im trying to replace a Rheem/Raypack model # P-M336A-EN-C. Is this the model? This is for a salt pool, natural gas.
Hi, Andy. This Raypak P-R336A-EN-X unit can be used as a saltwater friendly replacement for the P-M336A-EN-C model. This is a natural gas heater.
We are looking into replacing our existing STA-Rite 333 with another heater. We have a salt water pool. Is this Raypak product equal or better than STA-Rite and designed for salt water? Thank you.
Yes, the 336,000 BTU RayPak with the cupro-nickel heat exchanger is made for saltwater pools to hold up against corrosion.
Do you have a draft hood kit available for the R336A so i can install it indoors. If not, what about using the power vent kit and what is the cost for that?
The item you will need will be the Indoor Stack Kit, R336A, R367A - 009840 our part number 6238-122
Is there any harm in over sizing your heater to your pool size?
Hi, Bob. No there is no harm in oversizing the hearer on your pool. The larger the unit, the faster it will heat your pool, the less it will run. That translates into energy savings for you.
Is the 336K appropriate for a 16x32 inground pool? Also what is the size of this heater as I cannot seem to find.
Yes a 336K would be a good choice for a 16x32 inground pool, here you can see The Dimensions of a Raypak Heater
I will need to run about 250 feet of a natural gas line for this installation. Are there any recommendations and/or limitation to consider? Size of line, etc.
HI Bernie, Please refer to the Raypak RP2100 Installation and Instruction Manual for all installation requirement. You will also need to contact your gas company and a authorized Raypak installer for installation recommendations.
Just want to confirm that this is a natural gas, electronic spark ignition heater with the cupro nickel heat exchanger.
Hi Jim, This unit is a natural gas, electronic ignition with a cupro-nickel heat exchanger.
I have a spa only and a raypak spa/pool unit. Can I heat the spa when it is on the pool mode and will the spa heat any faster on the pool mode vs. the spa mode?
Hi, Since you only have a spa it does not matter what mode it's in. The heater will not heat faster in a specific mode. The Pool/Spa mode is for applications that has a pool/spa and wants each body of water heated to a different temperature.
I'm looking for a pool heater and I see one at kijiji but is already 4 years old is it worth to buy it?
Mario, I'm not sure what kind of Heater you saw at Kijiji and what price but with it being 4 years old it's not coming with any warranty, so that's a call only you can make.
What is the efficiency rating on this heater?
I spoke to the technical department at Raypak ( 805-278-5300 ) and was told that the efficiency rating for this heater is 82%.
The Raypak 2100 unit I currently have, has a "pool" and a "spa" switch. Is this the same type of deal on Raypak model 010104, but digital? Can you heat both together, or only separately, or both?
Yes, this heater will do the same job as your existing heater. Instead of two dials for spa and pool, the digital board will control both. You can set one temperature for the spa and one for the pool. You can also keep both bodies at the same temperature.
What is the difference between an Electronic and Millivolt ignition?
The basic answer is that Millivolt is the old style of ignition, using a standing pilot light. While the electronic ignition uses a spark start system like a gas grill. Electronic ignitions are more efficient in gas usage and also are better suited for high wind areas where a pilot light might get extinguished.
Will a gas heater operate at the low speed of a dual speed motor?
Probably not - Most gas heater will shut off at low GPM levels (20-40) to keep the heater cores from overheating - 20 for 200 BTUs, 40 for 400 BTUs. Depending on your pool system you might get these GPM levels at the low speed but generally these heaters must be run at the motor's high speed.

(5 out of 5 stars) Raypack 336,000 NG Heater
Reviewed By: Reiner from Allen, TX ()
Pros: Quiet, works well.
The heater arrived quickly. The delivery company was kind enough to place it in the yard near the pool equipment pad. The heater installed quickly and fired right up. Had the hut tub running by evening. It runs right to temp and holds selected temp well. Very quiet heater.
(4 out of 5 stars) Raypak 333k Cupro Nickle
Reviewed By: Blowout from San Jose, CA ()
Pros: Cupro Nickle heat exchanger for the price of copper
Cons: Manifold not torqued down, but I caught it before any issue with start up.
The ship time on this was remarkable. Had the unit in less than a week to CA. Shipper called before delivering and transported the unit to the pad. The only reason for four stars is I had to change the inlet/outlet header to the other side. That's when I discovered the header opposite the inlet/outlet header wasn't torqued down. The nuts were only finger tight. I torqued both headers to 7 lbs per the instructions. If I didn't change the headers it would have been a panic attack why the unit was leaking. Once hooked up the unit fired up fine. The ability to check the flame strength in service mode is a great feature and let me know I have plenty of gas with a 80ft run of 1 1/4" pipe. The max is 8 and minimum is 4 bars. The unit showed 8. It's a good feeling after spending all the time under the house. This is a large unit compared to some other brands, but the last Raypak that was installed on this pool lasted 30 years. Raypak has a good name and was recommended by the PB we used to replaster and replumb the pool. I am going to keep this unit covered to keep the leaves and water out to maximize the life. Got a great price on this unit from InyoPools and no issue with the order at all. Thanks for that!
