Is the Max-E-Therm Spa Heater #SR200NA California Compliant?
Hi, Alan. These unit are Low NOx so they can be installed in California.
I have a sta-rite max E-therm 200 pool heater. when the heater fires up all is good, no errors. It runs about 3 or 4 min and the burner shuts off then run another min or two and burner cycles on again. it just keeps doing this. I backwashed, filters are clean, no obstructions. I turned backwash valve to recirculate and it still does this. thank you
Hi Jack, A few things can cause the problem that you're having with your unit. It could be an electrical and or gas pressure problem, to properly diagnose the problem you will have to get a service technician out to troubleshoot your unit.
Regarding the Max-E-Therm 200000BTU LP Elc.IGN. How does your warranty work? If something should go wrong can we get a local technician to look at and repair it and then submit the bill for parts and labor to you. Could you explain the warranty a little better to us. Also how long would it take to get this heater is it in stock. Thank you
Hi Linda, Once the unit is installed by a pool professional the unit will be warranted by the manufacturer. If the unit fails within the warranty period you will have to contact the manufacturer and they will send someone out. The service company usually bills the manufacturer.
Will a gas heater operate at the low speed of a dual speed motor?
Probably not - Most gas heater will shut off at low GPM levels (20-40) to keep the heater cores from overheating - 20 for 200 BTUs, 40 for 400 BTUs. Depending on your pool system you might get these GPM levels at the low speed but generally these heaters must be run at the motor's high speed.
Is the sta-rite heater Max E Therm low NOx rated for Texas?
Yes the Sta Rite Max E Therm heaters are LoNox rated for Texas and California.

Pros: Quiet, Small Compact
Cons: Non I am aware of
We did not install the heater with the pool. After a couple of seasons decided to get one. This model fit the bill and was the same manufacturer as the pump and filter. It is easy to use and operate. It is fairly quiet. It seems to heat the pool fast and holds the temp well. Great price from INYO pools, saving hundreds off the local pool store price. As we have only had this a month or so, time will tell the story of reliability.

Cons: I had to ask questions to technicalm service twice to get it working. The install instructions were too detailed for a simple set up. Reading the instructions, I missed the 110v/220v, and the on/of
