How much sand is required for this filter?
Reply
This particular filter has a requirement of 200 pounds of sand. We offer an alternative to sand called Zeobest, it offers cleaning capability 10 times that of sand. An added plus to Zeobest is that you only use half the amount needed with sand. >Zeobest Sand Alternative

Hello we have a great "how to guide" on how to operate sand filter. You would switch your multiport valve to backwash to drain to desired level and switch back to filter after you are done. Please make sure in between switching back and forth from backwash to filter you turn off pump so you can turn valve better.
