Dimensions 12" L x 7" W x 10" D
Alternate Part #'s 5KC38SN6084AX, 5KC38SN6084X, B2853, B853, USQ1102
1 HP Up-Rate Motor, 1.25 S.F., Voltage 115/230, Max Amps 115V = 14.0 230V = 7.0, Single Speed, RPM = 3450, Frame = 56Y Used on many Sta-Rite, Pac-Fab, American Products and Pentair swimming pool pumps
I am replacing C1245, 5KC38SN6084X, 1 Hp, 115/230, 56Y FR., 1 PH, 3600 Rpm for my in-ground pool. The old motor says Marathon Electric, and FR 56Z. I understand that the C1245 or B2853 will work just fine. I want the motor, but not sure of the seal kit to order with it. The pump housing has weathered label. I can read Sta-Rite "P2R" but the Code Number is almost illegible. It feeds to a Pentair DE filter rated at 66 GPM. I will upload pics and ask your seal kit recommendation.
For the P2R Sta Rite series you can always use the GOKIT54 and just remove the copper cone in the seal plate if you have one. You can view that cone on key 7 on the Sta Rite Duraglass Parts Diagram.
what gokit goes with this pump? thank you
We would need to know the model name or number of the front pump housing that the motor bolts to in order to cross-reference the correct seal kit. If you cannot locate that information then you can always email us images of that housing to email@example.com to try and identify that for you.
I have a marathon 5KC38SN6084AX motor on my pool pump. I understand the correct replacement is the Century C1245. Do I need any other parts ( such as seals or gaskets) in order to replace the motor? Can I get them from you?
Hi. This C1245/B853 motor is the replacement for the Marathon 5KC38SN6084AX motor. You will need to replace the seals and gasket, however, to locate those part the housing model is required.
I have a marathon Mod 5kc38sn6084ax does fit? And what's ur warranty on this motor.
Hi, Michael. Yes, this Century B853 Motor will replace the Marathon 5KC38SN6084AX motor. It has a 1 year warranty.
I have a motor model number 5KC38SN6084AX. I see that same number with an X at the end and mine is an AX. Are they the same? My motor also says SFA 14.0/7.0, and this one is different. Will it work even though the numbers are different?
Hi Mitch, The C1245 would be the correct replacement motor for your 5KC38SN6084AX motor.
Hello, I have an old Dyna-Tech C1245 pump, what tune up kit do I need for it?
Hi, Bill. The Century B853 is the correct replacement. In order to locate the tune up kit, I will need to know the pump housing model.
Its hard to read but I think is Marathon 5kc38sn8084 ax.115/230,1081,56z 1081p. What is nthe correct part for this motor?
Hi, Paul. Based on the model number provided which may include a typo, this B2853 motor can be used as a replacement. I would recommend reconfirming the MOD number and the specs before ordering.
My pump motor is this same model but it has 56Z fram, will this motor work as a replacement for a 56z frame.
Yes, that will fit, but if you would like me to confirm you can provide me the part or model number of your model and I can confirm that is the direct replacement motor for you.
Will this motor work with a pentair superflo pump?
What seal kit do I need to use this with a pinnacle pump housing part #35-5611 (from manual) ?
Hi, Charlies. You'll need the Pentair/Pacfab Pinnacle Tune Up Kit - GOKIT24.
Motor whining and my local store does not have marathon motor should I replace with 1 hp or move up to 1 and a half Hp pool is 14,000 gallons
Hi, Jeff. The Marathon motor company is no longer in business. Before increasing the HP of the pump, you would first have to find out if your system can handle the additional water flow. Then you would need to replace the impeller along with any relevant parts. If not then you will have to stick with the 1 HP or upgrade your equipment.
Hello, I am buying this motor as a replacement and hooking up to a sta rite pump model P2RA5E-124L Code number 1D92K Looking to know which tune up kit to get for the seals. o rings, etc thanks
My pump has a Dyna Tech 1 horse motor now starting to whine, easily noticeable. It has a 6 inch flange, has kept the pool pressure at 12 with the solar panel on. my question is, is a 1 horse the max size to safely run for 10,000 gallons? or can you increase to 1/12 safely with out ruining pipes or anything else?
Hi, Bill. It's hard to say we may need additional information. However, you can replace your single speed motor with the Century V-Green ECM16SQU motor and the impeller. You can control the motor's RPM just in case it might be too much flow for your system.
I have an old Marathon electric 1081 Pool Pump Motor, Cat No C1245. Everything on my old label matches this one except the SFA is 14/7 , Code is M, Insul Class B. Just making sure this will still work? Also do i need anything else (other than basic tools) to do the install when i receive the new one?
Good morning John, This motor will work for you. You will need a 7/16 wrench, 9/16 wrench, pair of needle nose pliers,1/4 nut driver and a flat head srew driver. You will also need a seal kit. If you let me know what type of pump this is going on I can recommend the correct kit.
I understand this is a replacement motor for a Marathon 5KC38SN6084AX. I see this is has a frame for 56Y and mine is 56Z. Is that going to be a problem? Also, what additional parts will be needed to attach to a Sta-Rite P2RA5D-180L?
Good afternoon Tim, You will need aTune Up Kit Sta Rite Dura Glas & Max E Glas Pump Pre 1998 - GOKIT6. Your fine on the frame its a square flange with clips on the inside.
Ordering the C1245 pump. I also need the seal for this motor, do you carry it?
Hi, Duane. In order to locate the seal that you will need you will need to provide us with the pump housing model. If you're unable to locate the pump model, you can send us photos of the complete pump so that we can identify your pump.
I have a Marathon Electric Motor that just started to fail. Serial #J10J80360, Cat. No C1245, & also says 1081 Pool Pump Motor. 56Z Frame, 3450 RPM. What would be a suitable replacement?
Hi, Dave. The Century B853 Motor is the correct replacement for the Marathon Electric Motor C1245.
HOw can I get the bearing number for the C1245 without taking the motor apart?
Don- The easiest way would be to call A.O. Smith/Century at 1-800-262-6484 with your serial number.
Does anyone know the running amp utilization of this motor? I know the max numbers are listed, but I assume that is startup amps and not normal run rate. thanks!
Hello Todd- Unfortunately the only information we currently have is the Max Amps. I would suggest calling the MFG Century/A.O. Smith at 1800-262-6484 for that technical information.
I have a DynaMax 5KC38SNX6084AX I need replaced. I just purchased this motor from you and it arrived today. The visible difference is their is the capacitor hump on top of this motor and not one on my DynaMax. Will this work? Or could you provide me with the right motor so I can return this one? Thank you
Yes, that motor will work for the Dyna Max. The frame will fit and the total horsepower is the same. The one you received will even save you a little money on your energy bill because it uses less amps.
my pump model # is sp260 7x10 (Hayward) motor # 5kcr39sn2818ax. Is C1245 the replacement motor. Is the motor seal that is usually replaced with motor something I can replace?
The correct replacement motor for the Hayward Super Pump 1 HP Single Speed - SP2607X10 is the A.O. Smith 1 HP Round Flange Up Rate Motor - UST1102. The Tune Up Kit Hayward Super Pump - GOKIT3 is the seal kit that contains all of the o-rings and the shaft seal for your pump. The model of your motor does reveal the c1245 motor, but that motor is a square flange and the Super Pump model is a c-face front to the motor. The two different motors are not interchangeable.
my pool pump does not have any name on it per say- I purchased the C1245 replacement motor and now need the go kit, what part # is that. And what about an impeller?
Hi Donita, now that you have the c1245 motor, all I would need is what kind of pump you have, it's normally on the base where the motor is attached there would be a number we can cross reference and get which go kit and impeller. Please let me know horsepower as well.
what other parts are usually replaced along with this motor
It is very common to replace the shaft/pump seal when changing out a motor. You will need to identify the PUMP you have in order to determine the correct seal part you would need. I would recommend a Tune up kit, that includes all seals and o-rings, if it is available for your pump.
I have a marathon electric pool pump 5kc38sn6084ax.. The pump is very loud and now it seemed to stop working due to possible overheating. Would this pump work as an replacement? How loud is this pump?
The 1 HP Square Flange Motor (C1245, B2853) is the correct replacement motor. I do not have any information on how loud the motor is, but it should be no louder than any other new motor, of which are fairly quiet.
Our pump motor needs replacing. It is model 5KC39SN2812X Will C1245 be the right replacement? Thanks
I was able to cross reference the model number with an online search and came up with the c1090 series motor. That motor is a round flange 56J frame. The motor in question, C1245, is not a suitable replacement. We will need the make and model of your PUMP to cross reference the motor, as the model information does not correspond with any motors we currently stock.
I have a Marathon Electric pump for In-ground pool. The numbers are pretty worn but I can still read C1245 on it and that its 1 hp. Is this the same motor you have listed as (C1245/B2853?) It has gotten really loud and I think it's about shot and is in need of replacement. Please advise ASAP. Thank ou so much
Hi Rhonda, The A.O. Smith 1 HP Up Rate Square Flange Motor (C1245, B2853) will be the correct replacement motor.
Can this motor be used outside uncovered or must it be protected from rain/weather?
Hi Becca, This motor can be used outdoors uncovered. However you can extend the life of the motor if you use the Protective Pool Motor Cover to protect the motor from the rain and other form of precipitation.
Is there an energy efficient replacement pool pump motor for the 5KC38SN6084AX? Thank you
Hello Rob, The energy efficient version of this motor is the B863SE 1 HP Uprated EE Replacement Motor.
Does this make and model work as a replacement for a Marathon pool pump model 5KC38SN6084AX? Thank you
Hello Rob - Model C1245 is the replacement motor for 5KC38SN6084AX.
I think I asked the wrong question a few minutes ago. I just bought the above C1245 pump motor which will hook into a Sta-Rite Pump system. Do I need any gaskets or o rings for the motor to mount to the Sta-Rite system? After reviewing the diagrams, it appears not?
The o-rings and seals that you would need are specific to the model of the front plastic pump housing that the motor is mounted to. We see that the manufacturer is Sta Rite but we would need to know which model Sta Rite pump to cross reference that seal and gasket kit. You can call in to speak with a representative with that information or even email us here to continue the research on this.
I have a pump with marathon part number 5kc38sn6084ax. is this a plug compatible replacement?
Hi George, Yes this motor would be the direct replacement for your 5kc38sn6084ax motor.
Does 5KC38SN6084AX include gaskets and/or O rings?
Hello Wally - I am sorry to say that the gaskets and / or o-rings do not come with the motor. This motor, as with almost all other motors , have multiple applications. The gaskets and o-rings would be specific to the pump model you have.
I'm trying to replace the motor on my pool pump but all these numbers and abbreviations on the motor label are really confusing me. What do they mean?
Replacing a pool pump motor is not as difficult as it seems. You can try looking here. If you need help figuring out what the information on your label means. If you are still having difficulty figuring it out you can call us at our toll free number or you can send us a photo of your motor label here.
I'm looking to replace my G.E motor. My model is a C1318. Your description matches but you say this is a Marathon motor. Is this right?
G.E. and Marathon are one in the same. G.E was purchased by Regal Beloit and is now under the Marathon name. The quality of the motor has not changed.
