You would want to use the GOKIT54 and just keep in mind that if you have a copper insert cone in the seal plate that you will need to remove it.

Hi I have the c1245. It is older. Last week started making a horrible noise like bearings are wore out .Would it be smart to upgrade to variable speed now? We just reduced size of pool from 22500 to just about 15000 gal. Just l Wondering if I could do a less Hp pump. I have an robotic cleaner .

A     Answered on 7/23/2018 by InyoPools Product Specialist Hector F.

It would be a great time to upgrade to a variable speed motor. You would need to use model ECM16SQU. There is not a smaller version.

I am replacing C1245, 5KC38SN6084X, 1 Hp, 115/230, 56Y FR., 1 PH, 3600 Rpm for my in-ground pool. The old motor says Marathon Electric, and FR 56Z. I understand that the C1245 or B2853 will work just fine. I want the motor, but not sure of the seal kit to order with it. The pump housing has weathered label. I can read Sta-Rite "P2R" but the Code Number is almost illegible. It feeds to a Pentair DE filter rated at 66 GPM. I will upload pics and ask your seal kit recommendation.

A     Answered on 12/4/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Hector F.

For the P2R Sta Rite series you can always use the GOKIT54 and just remove the copper cone in the seal plate if you have one. You can view that cone on key 7 on the Sta Rite Duraglass Parts Diagram

what gokit goes with this pump? thank you

A     Answered on 11/13/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Hector F.

We would need to know the model name or number of the front pump housing that the motor bolts to in order to cross-reference the correct seal kit. If you cannot locate that information then you can always email us images of that housing to upload@inyopools.com to try and identify that for you.

Motor whining and my local store does not have marathon motor should I replace with 1 hp or move up to 1 and a half Hp pool is 14,000 gallons

A     Answered on 2/6/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, Jeff. The Marathon motor company is no longer in business. Before increasing the HP of the pump, you would first have to find out if your system can handle the additional water flow. Then you would need to replace the impeller along with any relevant parts. If not then you will have to stick with the 1 HP or upgrade your equipment.

A     Answered on 2/6/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, Bill. You can use either the Sta-Rite Dura-Glas & Max-E-Glas Pump Tune Up Kit - GOKIT6 (Pre-1998) which includes the Seal Insert or GOKIT54 (After-1998) new style without seal insert.

My pump has a Dyna Tech 1 horse motor now starting to whine, easily noticeable. It has a 6 inch flange, has kept the pool pressure at 12 with the solar panel on. my question is, is a 1 horse the max size to safely run for 10,000 gallons? or can you increase to 1/12 safely with out ruining pipes or anything else?

A     Answered on 1/16/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, Bill. It's hard to say we may need additional information. However, you can replace your single speed motor with the Century V-Green ECM16SQU motor and the impeller. You can control the motor's RPM just in case it might be too much flow for your system.

Good morning John, This motor will work for you. You will need a 7/16 wrench, 9/16 wrench, pair of needle nose pliers,1/4 nut driver and a flat head srew driver. You will also need a seal kit. If you let me know what type of pump this is going on I can recommend the correct kit.

A     Answered on 9/16/2016 by InyoPools Product Specialist Scott W.

Yes, that motor will work for the Dyna Max. The frame will fit and the total horsepower is the same. The one you received will even save you a little money on your energy bill because it uses less amps.

my pump model # is sp260 7x10 (Hayward) motor # 5kcr39sn2818ax. Is C1245 the replacement motor. Is the motor seal that is usually replaced with motor something I can replace?

A     Answered on 8/24/2016 by InyoPools Product Specialist Alan M.

The correct replacement motor for the Hayward Super Pump 1 HP Single Speed - SP2607X10 is the A.O. Smith 1 HP Round Flange Up Rate Motor - UST1102. The Tune Up Kit Hayward Super Pump - GOKIT3 is the seal kit that contains all of the o-rings and the shaft seal for your pump. The model of your motor does reveal the c1245 motor, but that motor is a square flange and the Super Pump model is a c-face front to the motor. The two different motors are not interchangeable.

A     Answered on 8/11/2016 by InyoPools Product Specialist Stacey M.

Hi Donita, now that you have the c1245 motor, all I would need is what kind of pump you have, it's normally on the base where the motor is attached there would be a number we can cross reference and get which go kit and impeller.  Please let me know horsepower as well.

?     Asked on 8/9/2016 by Donita Taylor

what other parts are usually replaced along with this motor

A     Answered on 8/9/2016 by InyoPools Product Specialist Alan M.

It is very common to replace the shaft/pump seal when changing out a motor. You will need to identify the PUMP you have in order to determine the correct seal part you would need. I would recommend a Tune up kit, that includes all seals and o-rings, if it is available for your pump.

A     Answered on 7/11/2016 by InyoPools Product Specialist Alan M.

The 1 HP Square Flange Motor (C1245, B2853) is the correct replacement motor. I do not have any information on how loud the motor is, but it should be no louder than any other new motor, of which are fairly quiet.

Our pump motor needs replacing. It is model 5KC39SN2812X Will C1245 be the right replacement? Thanks

A     Answered on 6/30/2016 by InyoPools Product Specialist Alan M.

I was able to cross reference the model number with an online search and came up with the c1090 series motor. That motor is a round flange 56J frame. The motor in question, C1245, is not a suitable replacement. We will need the make and model of your PUMP to cross reference the motor, as the model information does not correspond with any motors we currently stock.

I think I asked the wrong question a few minutes ago. I just bought the above C1245 pump motor which will hook into a Sta-Rite Pump system. Do I need any gaskets or o rings for the motor to mount to the Sta-Rite system? After reviewing the diagrams, it appears not?

A     Answered on 6/27/2015 by InyoPools Product Specialist Hector F.

The o-rings and seals that you would need are specific to the model of the front plastic pump housing that the motor is mounted to. We see that the manufacturer is Sta Rite but we would need to know which model Sta Rite pump to cross reference that seal and gasket kit. You can call in to speak with a representative with that information or even email us here to continue the research on this.
