is this a true hayward filter i will receive exactly as pictured?
This is not a genuine Hayward filter as the product description denotes it is a Hayward CX 410 Generic Cartridge. The manufacturer of this filter is Pleatco that makes quality filter cartridges.
(5 out of 5 stars) generic cartridge.

Pros: cheaper than namebrand
Cons: don't know of any yet
Haven't used, my new filter came with a Hayward cartridge. I think for the price and the fact that I will most likely replace my cartridge at least once a year, the generic is the best value. Live in Michigan so our swimming season, sadly, is only abut 3 months a year. I will keep the used Hayward and see how it performs a second year if it looks ok. Still, I don't think you will see much difference in brands. It all depends on your water (We have well water, and that is what we use in our pool)
