I am looking for a filter for a Hayward micro star cleaner model #SP1540CLSNP. I can't find the model # on the filter itself. It is for a pool filter system. Thank you for your time.

The model number you provided matches a Hayward PowerFlo LX pump. The model number does not reference a filter. In order to assist you better, I would need the model of the filter, or you can view the Hayward Micro Star Clear Parts diagram to determine which filter would fit your filter.

Had a new filter cartridge and used it about 2 weeks. The pressure gauge started at about 12 when first installed, when it got to about 22 I cleaned the cartridge because I noticed my waterfall was coming out weak. After that first cleaning, now the pressure goes to around 23 almost immediately after it is cleaned and the waterfall is weak. The cartridge is not dirty, it looks brand new, but repeated the process several times with the same result. Any idea why this is happening?

Hi Tomas, You may have to soak the cartridge in a Filter Cleaner solution to remove any build up oils that could be in the filter.

My existing Hayward filter is identified as C-59 OE. It measures as follows: 7" outside diameter, 3" inside diameter and 19 1/4 - 3/8 for the length. Just want to confirm that the CX 500 is the correct replacement filter. Thanks

Hi, Joe. The C-59 OE replacement is p/n CX590RE. If you have the Hayward Star Clear C500 Filter this cartridge will fit, however, if you have the Hayward C7000 model which requires 8 cartridges you would p/n CX590RE. The cartridge dimensions are the same but the CX500 element is 50 sq. ft and the CX590RE are 87.5 sq. ft.

Sam, This cartridge can remove particles as low as 10 microns in size. Most cartridges will have the same specs.

Maintenance of a pool is expensive. Filters although they last a long time need to be replaced from time to time. We decided to try a "generic" alternative and feel very lucky to have that choice in these filters. We put them in our Hayward system and they fit like a glove.
