I am trouble-shooting a 1999 Sundance 850 Spa system. One of the motors just hums when asked to run. It turns freely by hand. I pulled the capacitor from the external hump on the motor and it seems to test bad on my multimeter. 2 Questions, please: 1) Is this a run or a start capacitor or both? 2) It is marked as a Magnetek 9845. 35uf 370 VAC 60hz 035864. Other numbers on it are 005-1479-RMF SU 60P68-2445 60P61-10 SA S1000AFC 175863-35. What capacitor do you have for replacement?

Hi, Tom. Based on the capacitor specifications this RD-35-370 Run Capacitor is the correct replacement.

Hi, Bobby. The replacement run capacitor for the SQ1202 motor is 628318-308 which is the 35 MFD 370 Volt Run Capacitor, but you can use this 35 MFD 370 Volt Run Capacitor - 628318-309 also.

I have an old tub with a Flowmaster-AquaFlo pump motor that has a run capacitor. The capacitor has no label and I am unable to read the pump motor model # because it is faded. The service to the hot tub is 220vac. I am trying to determine the run capacitor I need.

Without  a specific motor model, part or catalog number, or a capacitor part number we would not be able to cross reference for you. If you cannot locate any of that then you can send in images of the capacitor stating all specs and dimensions of it through our support request page or you may need to take it to a local motor shop.

Hello, I have a Hayward Northstar 2HP pump, model number SP1615-Z-1-MNSC, manufactured around 2004. I need a new capacitor but am unable to read all of the information on the label. The info I am able to read is as follows: x5UF +/-5% 370VAC/B 60,xxhZ (x's represent unreadable numbers) 25P356H37N30N4X 17586335 The capacitor is 3" tall and 2" wide. Can you tell which replacement capacitor I would need? Thank you, Ray

Hi, Ray. This 35 MFD 370 VAC Run Capacitor is the correct replacement for the SP1615-Z-1-MNSC motor.

I have a 2 HP AO Smith (Whispeflo) motor and the capacitor just went out. It is a 35MFD 370 VAC capacitor. I have temporarily placed a 50MFD one in my pump motor so it will run for filtration and cleaning of my pool. Is that ok? Also you sell several different capacitors. Can I buy the 40 or 45 MFD capacitor and not damage motor and get better life/performance from motor or should I stick with the 35MFD ?

A  Answered on 5/21/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, Steve. It's okay to use a larger sized capacitor like the 50 MFD and it will not harm the motor. We do have a wide range of different size capacitor available. You'll be fine using the 50 MFD capacitor or if you want to put your mind at ease you can purchase the 35 MFD 370 VAC Capacitor.

Can motor SP1620-7-Z-1-MNSC which requires a 55 UF capacitor can it run on one that is 35UF

A  Answered on 7/26/2016 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, The SP1620-7-Z-1-MNSC motor does show that it can use a 35 MFD 370V Run Capacitor based on the info we have from the manufacturer. In some cases, a higher capacitor can be used.

the capacator in my hayward is a 35mr 370 but it is only 3" in length. The 4 " will not fit in thespace in the motor. Will a 30 mf work and not burn out the 2hp motor?

A  Answered on 7/16/2016 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi John, The 30MFD capacitor will not work, it has to be 35MFD or higher.

Is the 3"x3"x2" dimensions only for the body of the capacitor, or does it include the envelope of the connection tabs as well? I need a 35-370 for a Hayward Northstar motor, but there is basically no space for anything even slightly larger.

A  Answered on 6/20/2016 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi Wally, The warehouse confirmed the capacitor is 3" x 2" without contacts.

A  Answered on 8/11/2015 by InyoPools Product Specialist Joe S.

Hello Tony for your motor you will need Part # 5270-07 Capacitor, Run Rd 20-370 (rd-20-370)

?     Asked on 4/28/2015 by Michael

In response to the posted question and answer below- my MFD rating is 35 and the VAC is 370 - the only thing in question is the size. Mine is 2.875" long and 1.875" in diameter.

A  Answered on 4/28/2015 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

Hi Michael, I double checked the dimensions on this capicitor and it is 2" Wide x 4-5/16" Long. Since the MFD and VAC ratings are the same this would work for your application, the only question would be if it could fit inside your motor end cap.

?     Asked on 4/27/2015 by Mike

This capacitor meets all my specs except the size as near as I can tell. Mine is 2.875 long with a 1.875 diameter. Can you tell me the dimensions and if they do not match maybe another model #? Thank you

A  Answered on 4/27/2015 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

Hi Mike, Your current capictor should have a MFD rating and a VAC rating on it, can you please email us those specifications as this will help us select the proper replacement capictor for you, thanks!

I need to replace my the capacitor on my 1.5HP pool pump. Do you carry the capacitor I need?

A  Answered on 1/23/2012 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

Please note that capacitors store an electric charge and should be handled with the utmost caution and care. We do not encourage handling a capacitor without any type of safety measures in place and highly recommend contacting a professional service company for repair/replacement. For those that feel comfortable changing the capacitor here's  >How to replace a pool pump capacitor. In order to match up the capacitor you will need more specifications on the capacitor. You will need to match the voltage, the MFD, whether or not the capacitor is a >run or >start type and the actual dimensions of the capacitor body.
