I found a number of videos on Youtube about the Perflex DE filter, but the one talking about this very question has yet to appear. I watch the one about the check valve and it said they would have one up soon. Other than there, I would also give Hayward Tech a call. They may have something they can either direct you to or send you a link. Their number is 888-429-9273

I have a Hayward Perflex DE Filter Model EC40C92S and was changing the check valve and broke the plastic "C" retaining clamp. The only place I could find this retainer is on your parts list for part ECX 1256. When I removed the retaining clamp it was located in front of the flow controller ECX 1055. I cannot find this part on any of the many Hayward part lists that I have looked at. Thanking you in advance for your assistance

Hi John, The retaining or "c" clip is not sold separately, it's only available with p/n ECX1256.

Hi, Is the "c" ring actually necessary? Or can I just use the filter without that ring?
