Hi, how often do you need to replace the zinc ball. I have had mine in the basket for two years...

Hi, Steve. You would replace when the anode is completely rusted.

How long does it typically take for a zinc ball to get completely rusted? Just looking for a ball park SWAG. One hour? Two years?

There is no way of knowing. The ph of your water can hugely affect how long it takes. The electrical charge in the water from voltage leak and static build up can quickly de-plate the ball. The ball is made of an Iron core and thru the electroplating process that Zinc that is outside is removed molecule by molecule into the water. # months to 2 years is a best answer
