My pressure gauge reads 15 psi all the time. Is that normal?

When the pump is off, the pressure gauge should read zero. If it reads 15 psi, it should be replaced.

I am looking for a pressure gauge that fits a Hayward Sand Master Filter System (SM1700T or SM1900T.) Also can you recommended the amount and type of replacement sand?

This would be the correct pressure gauge for the Hayward Sand Master Filter System. The sand you would need is #20 Silica sand also called Pool Filter Sand, the amount of sand you would require would be dependent on if you have the SM1700T or SM1900T the label on your filter tank should have one of the model #'s notched out. If you have the SM1700T you require 100 lbs. of sand and the SM1900T requires 150 lbs. of sand. We also carry all of the parts for the Hayward Sand Master filter system

What should this pressure gauge 101d-204d read?
 Reply

A  Answered on 9/15/2014 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

These pressure gauges run different pressures based on the specifications of the system but in general a pressure gauge can run anywhere from 5 psi up to 20 psi. The higher the pressure typically means there is something to be trouble shot in the system. If the gauge does not read anything when the pool pump is running, or is damaged then it needs to be replaced.

This says bottom mount, but mine mounts to the side. Any problem?

The term " bottom mount  " simply means that the threaded part is on the bottom. If mounted to a side connection, it"s face will simply point straight up. If you wish for the face to point out, you would need a rear mounted pressure gauge.  Either will work.

Will this fit s310s 500lb Hayward sand filter?

If you have the multiport that came with the filter ( either a SP0710X62 or SP0715X62 ) then yes, this would be the correct gauge for this application.

Old Bottom Mount Pressure Gauge wasn't going back to Zero

Written on 5/18/2022 by Guest

Removed old pressure gauge by turning it counter-clockwise.
Put plumbers tape on the threads of the new pressure gauge.
Inserted the new pressure gauge by turning it clockwise by hand for 1-2 revolutions.
Finished tightening the gauge with a wrench as the instructions suggested.

Removed OEM gauge. Installed teflon tape (pipe tape) to threads of this new gauge. Installed in seconds! now I can rely in the pressure readings!

My pressure gauge was very old and didn’t work anymore

Written on 9/30/2019 by Guest

This is a good pressure gauge and easy to install to your pool filter. All I had to do is get a wrench to loosen up the old pressure gauge (only because it had been on there so long), then I took the old one off and put the new one on. But before I put the new one on I put plumbers tape on it to prevent leaking.

Pressure gauge always showed ‘0’ pressure even when the pump was running.

Written on 6/10/2018 by Guest

Unscrew the old non- working pressure gauge. Apply Teflon tape on male threads of the new gauge. Screw in the new gauge. Only hand tighten. Did not. require any tools.
Note: one thing I would like to mention here. On My previous gauge, the dial was vertical when installed. In the new gauge, dial is horizontal when gauge is installed on the top of the filter. Vertical dial was little easier to read but after all, the new gauge shows pressure. I can live with it.

Defective pressure gauge

Written on 11/16/2017 by Stewart K.

Shopped around, InYoPools had the best generic gauge for the best price.
Removed old gauge. Installed new generic gauge, but found that it would not seat /tighten correctly into the plastic pressure relief valve. Pressure relief valve plastic female fitting was stripped which did not allow the new brass generic gauge to seat properly.
Purchased new pressure relief valve assembly with new gauge from IYP. All perfect once again
