Hi. I believe this is the correct replacement motor. But I’m not sure which seals or go kit to get. Is this the newer or older version PB4-60?

Please let me know and would the screws line up as well,
Thank you and have a great day
Hi Thomas, The B625 replacement motor is the correct replacement motor for your pool vac motor shown in your photo. You will also need a Seal Kit when you replace your motor and the two most common pumps that use the B625 are the Polaris Booster Pump and the Letro Booster Pump. If you have the Polaris Booster Pump then you will require this Polaris Seal Kit and if you have a Letro then you will require this Letro Seal Kit. We have also put together this Video on How to Replace a Booster Pump Motor which you may find helpful when you tackle this project.
I ordered a Polaris Booster Pump Motor-B625, it looks like I need an o-ring for the shaft.
Does that come with the motor or do I need to order one & what is the o-ring P/N?
When replacing the motor on the booster pump we would recommend the Polaris Booster Pump Shaft Seal 5/8" - P55 and O-ring, Bracket To Volute (258). These do not come with the motor.
I just want to make sure that A.O. Smith P/N 3262-18 is a direct replacement for A.O. Smith P/N 7-193794-50.
Just started the pump and there water leaking around the drain plug, does this plug require an o ring? I want to try this first before ordering a seal kit.
I purchased this motor (B625) recently to replace my current one which is screaming like a banshee. What else do I need to install this motor (seals, o-rings, impeller?). P/N is 0-173840-23, S/N is 35717CH. Thanks!
Hey Brad, with any motor replacement we suggest replacing the seals and gaskets in your pump. This will help to prevent water intrusion and extend the life of your new motor. The seals are specific to the wet-end of the pump and we will need that model information to identify what they are. The impeller rarely needs to be replaced unless your unit is over 10 years old, or there is visible damage to the impeller.
I have a Century Pool and Spa Motor (Booster Pump), CAT# B625, Serial# BW3-16, Part 7-173840-23, HP# 3/4, SF# 1.50, PH# 1 with RPM# 3450. This pool pump is having a loud noise, it is working fine and pool is cleaning well. The noise just annoy, is this a sign of bearing going bad.
(1) If I need to replace a motor, what motor can I buy
(2) Do I need to have GO-KIT (all the O-Rings, Shaft seals etc)
(3) And do i need a new impeller, which model should I buy.
Hi, Afab. Yes, the sound that is coming from the motor is a sign that the bearings are failing. This Century B625 is the correct replacement motor. I would also recommend getting the PB4 Tune Up Kit - GOKIT71 and the Impeller - P15.
My PB4-60 serial number is PB0206134044. Is this the right motor? Also need to know correct Go kit, my existing motor is US motor Cat EB625, Model K63CXEAZ-5229,3/4 HP, 3450RPM, MFG# 8150 Frame 56J, diameter of motor is 6 3/8’, shaft length 3 3/4’ threaded shaft. I am confused if my pump is bolder or newer style
What part needed to rep[lace screeching beariings on Polaris boosters pump - newer one PB4- 60 and DIRECTIONS . Thanks
I need the new style polaris booster pump motor, rear shaft access plug/cover, but have not found a diagram that shows it. Can you provide a part or a part number?
Hi, Martin. Unfortunately, the rear shaft access cover is not sold as a separate part.
Do I need to purchase any additional parts when replacing this motor, such as new o-rings, gaskets, etc.?
This is the part number on our Polaris pump. The motor is screaming. Sounds like a bearing's going. Is there more I should know or is this a direct, bolt-on replacement?
On the a.o. Smith b625 what is the correct wiring as it has an L2 and an L6. Using 220
Hello Scott- The wiring diagram is on the label of the motor. Since you are using 230v you would use the high voltage wiring diagram. According to that label, it shows you would connect 1 of your hots to line 1 and the other to line 2 and as always ground on green.
I Sept 2016 and last weekend it shorted out following a heavy rain then freezing conditions. Was there a guarantee of any sort on the pump, which may be redeemable?
Good afternoon Kevin, The motor has a one year warranty. I was able to pull up your account information and start the warranty process. You will receive an email with instructions. I will need photos of the motor. Top label, side label and flange/shaft.
PB4-60 stopped working. Just hums when turned on. Replaced capacitor on top of motor but no change. Pump spins freely. Voltage to motor good (240), motor resistance 6.5ohms and not grounded. Is there another capacitor inside back of motor?
Hi Bill, This motor only has a start capacitor which is located on the top of the motor. There is no other capacitor inside of the motor.
Is a B265 motor the correct replacement of a 7-193794-50 A.O. Smith motor? The label on the pump lists the frame size as Y56Y. 3/4 hp,SF1.50, 3450 rpm, volts 230/115, amps SF 6.4/12.8.
Can you verify the numbers in your original message are correct as they are listed on your motor's label?
After i replace the polaris booster pump and motor, do i need to cover this unit? If so
Do you sell a cover for the unit?
My motor is making screeching noises, an indication of a leak towards your shaft seal. Once the water reaches the motor, the screeching starts. Can I stop the screeching or do I have to replace the motor?
Good afternoon Terry,Yes once the motor gets wet it needs to be replaced. The part number for the shaft seal that you'll need to order with the new pump is going to be 3262-04.
What is the difference between the B625 and the (B625) 3262-18?
Hi Brent, The p/n are the same. However if you were meaning to find out the difference between the B121 and B625, the B121 has a "keyed" shaft which requires the Shaft Extension (150) and the B625 does not. The B625 has a threaded shaft.
I keep blowing start capacitors. What is the correct size for a b625 Polaris pump?
My booster 7-173840-23 is making a high squealing. Noise like the bearing is going out. Is there bearing inside or what is making that high pitch noise
Mr. Singh,Yes, there are bearings inside your motor. Typically, once the motor starts making screeching noises, it's an indication of a leak towards your shaft seal. Once the water reaches the motor, the screeching starts.
Will this motor be more energy efficient than my original Polaris Booster pump motor? And if so, is it possible to quantify by how much?
I already got a variable speed pool pump installed. So now I was looking to get more energy efficient with other pool related equipment.
Brian,No, this motor is not considered energy efficient. Unfortunately, there is only one motor that will fit the Polaris Booster pump.
Do you have the complete pump assembly on this unit? And if you do what is the part number and the price? I seem to not be able to find the complete pump just the motor!
I have a century centurion pool motor, Part# 7 -187400-20 and need to replace it. serial#070083M do you guys carry it?
Looking for a seal kit for the B625 polaris booster pump. Will u help me to locate the item please. thank you

(4 out of 5 stars) Motor Polaris Threaded Shaft .75hp (b625)
Reviewed By: The Rev. Robert D T. from Amarillo, TX ()
Pros: Price, service and shipping excellent.
Cons: The manufacturer let an 'untested' motor out of their warehouse for retail sale.
Older pool equipment makes it difficult to find replacement parts. Shipping was expedited because I ordered another motor NOT compatible from a different company at a higher price! INYOPool had what I needed and shipped the product fast. The only reason I gave a 4 star rating is due to a Century manufacturing defect (bearing locked up after 6 months) which is beyond INYOPools control. I am certain they will gladly with me on replacing and resolving this issue.
