When installing, does the open end face the pool?

Hello Tom - Place assembly on the bottom of the skimmer. Port “A” (The one without the hole in the top) goes over the Suction Outlet (Main Drain) port. Port “B” over the PUMP PORT (Normally the rear connection.)

At what posistion should the top circle and the side lever be set?

Hi Terry, You would adjust the valve leveler and the side plate depending on what you want to do. If you want both skimmer and main drain working you would set the valve level at a 45° angle and the side plate 1/2 way over the hole.

My pool was installed in 1982. The imprinted model/part number on the disc is SP-1082H. Will the SP-1082GV replace that? The inlet/outlet openings are 4 1/8" apart.

Hello Pete- If you are only looking for the Plate, Slide With Screw (spx1082h1b) then this would be the replacement part. If you are looking for the complete Valve, Skimmer To Main Drain Wg (sp1082gv) then this would be the correct replacement part as it also includes the Slide Plate..

I have an inground vinyl liner pool with a Hayward skimmer that was installed in 1976. This is the diverter that is used in it. The problem is that the supplied screws are not long enough plus they are wood screws not machine screws so they do not mate to the inserts that are in the bottom of the skimmer. Any idea what size machine screws are supposed to be used in my skimmer? Originally there were a pair of stainless machine screws but they vanished at some point . Thank you!

Hi, Tom. I'm not sure what size machine screws are used with the valve. The item # for the replacement screw is SPX1082Z9.

I ordered 1 1/2 in. hose replacement cuffs. The hose cuff that goes into port b of the sp1082gv is too big. What size cuff do I need? Thank you, Tomr

Hi, Tomr. The hose is not to be connected directly to this Skim/Suction Valve. You will need to follow the instructions provided on page 5 of the Auto Skim Series Manual.
