Does this come with installation instructions? Do we just drill a hole in the existing piping and then attach it? Is it supposed to be installed between the filter and the heater or is there a better place for it to go within our system? Thanks.

Kaye, The Zinc Anode comes with installation instructions. This particular anode is a saddle clamp type. You would drill a hole into the pvc and the anode would sit above the hole and the gasket and clamps would secure it in place. Typically, this would be installed in between the filter and heater.

How often does the canister have to be replaced?

Hi, Steve. The Zinc Anode will need to be replaced as needed based on the amount of electrolysis that takes place.
