Are there specs on how many microns this filter is rated at? Is there available another filter that won't allow finer particles to pass through?

As a rule, sand filters sift particles ranging from 20 to 40 microns in size.  Cartridge filters can sift particles as small as 10 to 20 microns in size.  DE filters can sift contaminants as small as 1 to 3 microns in size. This makes DE filtration at least five to six times more efficient than sand filtration systems.

I have a Proline Clearwater II Cartridge Filter for which I am trying to buy a new cartridge. We . It is so terribly close to the measurements you specify for your product. With such close measurements I think your product would fit. Hope I'm not overlooking anything. What's your opinion?

The CS150 is a Jandy cartridge filter, do you mean the C150S?

will this filter work on my clear water 2 system
 Reply

This will depend on the square footage of your Clear Water II filter. If you have the 150 Sq. Ft. model with a cartridge that measures 23 5/16" in length then yes this is the correct replacement cartridge for that filter.

Time to Change/Clean Filter Cartridge.

Written on 6/9/2019 by Guest

Turn off pump, close both valves, drain filter by removing the plug on the bottom of the filter and opening the air vent on the top. Separate the filter housing haves by gripping the yellow tabs and rotating the locking collar counter-clockwise.

Remove the locking ring, lightly tap the upper portion of the filter housing to break it lose and remove. Grip the filter cartridge at the top and tip it back and forth to remove it.

Lift the cartridge out and inspect it for visible damage like damaged filter media, lose or broken plastic rings, damaged end caps and bulging or collapsed media. If no damage is found clean the cartridge using a hose to flush out as much debris as possible.

Flush out the bottom half of the filter housing until all debris is removed. run you hand along the insides to make sure there is not any algae or slime on the inside of the housing.

If there is use a small brush to scrub the housing clean and flush the housing out three or four times. Reinstall the filter cartridge making sure it is fully seated onto the lower ring.

Turn the upper filter housing upside down and check for any algae or slime on the inside of the upper housing and clean as needed. Inspect the o-ring in the upper housing, look for any nicks or cuts and if dry carefully remove the o-ring and lightly lubricate it using o-ring lube.

Re-Install the o-ring and carefully place the upper housing onto the lower house and secure it using the locking collar until tight. Remove and clean the pre-filter basket ahead of the pump motor per the directions.

This is not the pools skimmer basket, it is found just in front of the pump and should be cleaned when the cartridge is cleaned or replaced. I have two filter cartridges to lesson the down time and just swap out the cartridges and then clean the dirty cartridge after the pool is back online.

The filter we had was filled with algae. We kept washing it but it still did not clear up. We purchased the one from you and we have a clean swimming pool in no time.
