Although I needed the front panel, your parts are showing two different of the control boards that go under that. How do I know which one I need to buy?

Hi Sheila, The majority of the time it is the integrated control board which would need to be replaced. Here is a rather in depth Troubleshooting Manual for the Hayward Universal Heater which shows you how to do various troubleshooting tests on the heater. There is also a fuse on the control board which is shown in the upper right corner of page 10 you may want to try and replace this first before buying the front panel or control board.

Hayward H250FDN heater is giving a CE (Communications Error) display. Trouble shooting manual states Control Module and/or Display Interface Assembly are defective. Both are boards are pricey. Is there a way to determine which needs to be replaced?

Hi, Joe Eder. You will have to conduct a visual inspection of both boards. Sometimes a singe mark will be left behind. If not then a service technician will have to troubleshoot the unit.
