Can this be added to a ladder in the water for a pet to stand on? I am looking for a swim platform to assist a dog to get out of our above ground pool.

Hi Sheila - We would not suggest this item for a pet, however we do carry the Skamper Ramp which would be a good solution for pets.

how does it attach and secure to ladder?

Hello, there are notches on the bottom of this piece that slide onto the top of the ladder and snap into place.
