I plan to use this at my heater outlet to prevent backwash into the heater from my chlorinator. I use a 1.5 hp pump with 1-1/2" lines. Is this the correct spring load to allow water to pass freely in the correct direction, while preventing it in reverse? I anticipate it will be a horizontal mount.

Hi, This is not the correct check valve to use, you will need p/n 1700C20.

Is this the correct part to use to use on the return lines to maintain the water level in a spa and water feature (IG pool) when the pump isn't running?

Hi. Yes, a check valve is what you'll need but depending on your plumbing configuration you might need a different style check valve.
