Will this product remove stains from the surface of the pool without having to drain or does it just prevent additional staining? Also, how much would be needed?

Hi, This product can remove minor stains and prevent future staining if applied weekly or bi-weekly. Initially, you will need 32oz per 10,000 then 4-6 oz weekly.

does this clean the rust offf the bottom of the pool with the water in the pool or do you have to empty the pool and if in water what does it do to the water

Maintenance Dose: 3 fl oz per 1,000 gallons of water added to the pool. Removal of Fresh Stains: 3-96 fl oz depending on the severity of the stain. Directions Stain Prevention: To treat for metals in pool water, backwash filter, then allow pump to run continuously.
