Hi, Tom. This bulb is compatible with your fixture as long as it's a 12 volt fixture, if it's 120 volts use p/n PL5817. You will also need one of the Lens Gasket - 79108500 (OEM), LPL-M-G-P (Heavy Duty) or O-344 (Generic).

I purchased this 12v color changing LED to switch out the Pentair Spabrite incandescent light in my pool. The incandescent works in the fixture, However, the LED does not. Any clue why? My transformer is 12V 100 watts.

Hi. Double check to make sure the bulb is installed properly, screwed in all the way and that you're getting 12 volts at the socket.

I have a spa bulb in my pool I want to replace with led color changing bulb it’s a 12 V should I use 35 watt or five watt ; Will a 5 W light the pool up as well as a 35 W and do you carry 35w

The model of the fixture will determine whether or not a spa bulb or a pool bulb will fit in the fixture housing. The spa bulb is much smaller than the pool bulb, it is best to provide the model or series number of the fixture to determine if the bulb is compatible with it. Please note, you will also need to replace the housing gasket.

I have a 300 VA, 120/12 V transformer for my spa and pool lights. Is this transformer adequately sized to power a 5 W, 12 V spa LED AND a 35 W, 12 V pool LED at the same time.

A  Answered on 8/5/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Alex V.

Ernie, Yes, a 300 watt 12v transformer can power both bulbs.

I plan on replacing my spa (12 V, 100 W) incandescent bulb with an LED Color Changing bulb. The existing spa light is Hayward Spa Astrolite II 100 W 12 Volt for a Hayward Model SP0590SL. INYOPools has recommend the PL5816 LED bulb which is a 5 W LED. I was wondering, given that the niche that encloses the bulb is air/water tight, how is the LED bulb cooled. Will there be any heating issues with the LED bulb. Will the LED bulb generate less heat than the 100 W incandescent bulb.

Ernie, Any pool light bulb is kept cool by the water surrounding it. LED bulbs run cooler than a standard incandescent does.

Would this work with an American Products 7810XX housing? Right now it is connected to a dimmable switch, but I can change it to a standard switch if necessary.
 Reply

A  Answered on 6/4/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

Yes, this bulb will work on the American Products 7810XX housing, however, you will need to double check if it is 12V or 120V. This bulb is 12V and here is the 120V PureColors Spa Bulb. None of the LED bulbs are designed for a dimmer so a standard light switch would need to be installed.

It is controlled by the light switch. Every time you turn it off and on it goes through the different modes.

Hi Epsac, Could you send us a few photo's of your bulb? It would be helpful if you could put a measuring tape in the photos showing the width of the bulb and the depth, also a photo of any labels would help us determine if this will work for you.

It was a pretty simple process. Just like changing any other bulb. The instructions provided were really useful as well. I did watch the videos on the site too.

Were these instructions helpful?

Putty in Housing Melted and Got All Around Bulb

Written on 12/7/2018 by Guest

Received light on a timely basis, installed it in minutes. There was a putty that was around the glass so I kept it on thinking that it somehow belonged. Shortly after installation, I tried light, worked great but was not aware that the putty substance had melted and went all around the bulb eventually causing it to short out.
Long story short, will be purchasing another very soon.
