Digital Pool TDS Tester
Take the guesswork out of testing the TDS (total dissolved solids) in your pool. Our digital Pool TDS Tester measures your TDS levels in your swimming pool. Most swimming pools should be approximately 1500 PPM max. The digital TDS tester will measure your levels to make sure your levels are in the correct range. If your TDS levels are higher, the pool water can seem cloudy or hazy, have an odor or taste salty. A high TDS also increases the risk of scaling and stains.
Please note: Salt water pools will have a higher TDS level than a regular pool due to the salt concentration. A TDS level of approximately 4000 PPM is common.

Does this tester measure only salt?
Some similar testers test for total dissolved solids (TDS). If there other dissolved solids it could be incorrect regarding total salt.

These test only the salt level however, technically salt is a dissolved solid in the water but may not be the only dissolved solid. This may give you a close reading for the TDS in the water but may not be completely accurate.

Just received the TDS Tester -- PL7113. Included user manual indicates 2 models.... TDS-282 and TDS-283.
Which one do I have?

Hello Kurt. The TDS-282 model will display concentration readings in PPM (parts per million). The TDS-283 will display concentration readings in PPT (parts per thousand). While the meters look identical, the product description indicates you have a TDS-282 model.
