What pump do you recommend to replace a Hayward SP4020NS, 2hp,3450 rpm? Will the connections be the same as my present pump? I would like to just drop it in without altering the plumping.

This will be a good pump to match performance. However there will not be a pump available to match piping. So you will need to do some work to make it fit.

I have a Hayward SP4010X15NS. After 3 years service I replaced the motor once a year due to water eventually leaked in. Is the SP3215EE a good replacement pump or should I look at other options? The this is for filtration only 21,000 to 23,00o gallons. The water features run with a 1 HP Hayward that has been in service 7 years without a problem, of course it does not run 8 hours a day.

Do you have a saltwater pool, if so, it could be that your shaft seal is failing and the water is getting to your motor bearings.

Hi, Chii. Hayward does not make a drop in replacement for the Northstar pump. The Tristar pump can be used as a replacement but you will have to replumb pump's water connections.

Looking to replace a hayward super pump II sp3015EEAZ which handles our paramount 6-port floor cleaning system as well. Looking to replace the super II with Tristar because we can't seem to stop the leaking at the motor and seal plates that bolt to the housing. But would like know if the Tristar SP3215EE water IN port and OUT port match up to the Super II ports for an easy replace?

There will be some modifications required, but it should not be too difficult. The Hayward TriStar 1-1/2 HP, Energy Efficient, Full Rated Pump - W3SP3215EE intake port measures 13.61" from the ground up and the Super Two Series measures 12-3/16" from the ground up to the center hole of the intake port. The Tristar intake port to discharge port to center hole measures at 10.18" and the Super II measures 9-3/8". The Tristar port sizes are 2" Intake by 2.5" Discharge as most Super II Series are 1.5" x 1.5" there a few select on the market known as the RS Series by Hayward similar features to the Super II that offer an outside thread of 2" for the intake and discharge ports.

Have a Hayward SP3215EE. Notice on yours it has a W3 infront of the model numbers. What does the W3 stand for? Thanks

Hi David, the 'W3" just represents that the product is the online retailed version. Other than that it is the exact same product.

How many amps is the W3SP3215EE drawing and is it the same when running with 110V or 230V?

The amp rating for 230v/115v is 7.4/14.8. The amp draw is the same, you're just splitting the current when it is wired 230v.
