No, this is a 24 hour timer. The pump will turn on and off at the same time every day.

The PE153 does have a battery backup. The capacitor can hold a 4 hour charge. The programs stay locked in even if the power is out longer. You would just need to reset the time.

Yes, the timer can be set to run the different circuits at different times.

Can I use this timer to operate my pool pump and gas heater? And can i set the timer to run only my pump during the night and pump and heater for around 4 hours during the day?

Hi, John. Yes, you can schedule the pump only during the day and the pump and heater ant the same time. The pump and heater will have to the same voltage.

Hi, Tom. There is not a timer that senses time. All the timer that we sell uses a clock and switching device feature to open and close an electrical circuit.
