How do I know wheather I need the T101M or the T104M?

T101 or T104 should be on the inside door of your current timer or somewhere on the timer. If you cannot find this information you can unclip the timer clock mechanism and on the back of the timer there will be a motor. If there is a part # of WG1570 or 120V marked on the back of the timer motor then you would require a T101M 120V timer mechanism. If there is a part # of WG1573 or 240V marked on the back of the timer motor then you would require the T104M 240V timer mechanism. I think mine is a 110 V not sure. How hard is timer to install. Don't have plug in rec. Have a flip switch, Will timer work on 110V?

We have a guide here showing How To Install a Pool Timer Mechanism and it is not too difficult. This timer will not work on 110V you would require the T101M 110V Timer Mechanism.

The Polaris timer works correctly, but the Pool timer has quit moving. I can turn it on and off manually, but the timer does not move with the time of day. Is this the part I need to replace, and if so, is it hard for us to replace?

Hi Debbie, This would be the part I would recommend, in some case you could replace the motor WG157310D. I want to purchase an Intermatic T104M Mechanical Time Switch 220 and make sure this item is for 220 hook up. My current unit has (5) wire connection points. Does this timer switch have (5) wire connection points? I want to avoid purchasing the wrong switch. I await your advice..

I currently have an Intermatic model #T21004R timer. If I want to replace the whole unit, which model # do I purchase? I have been operating the switch manually and have been reluctant to purchase anything new, because mine reads that it is a 60 amp switch and mostly all that I have looked at, are only 40 amps. This unit runs both the pool and spa together, hence the need for a 60 amp model......I suppose! Thanks in advance for any suggestions and/or help.

Hi Barry. If the timer only works when manually switch it might be that the trippers are not set or installed properly. Checking the trippers would be my suggestion.

I have the T30004R with 2 timers. One for the low pump and one high.
My pump was running continuously so went to look at the timer. The time was incorrect so I reset it and went back to check, it hadn't moved. However I looked thru the view hole and the motor was still turning the gears. I detached the motor from the clock. The clock side gears move freely with no slipping noted. The motor side gears can be turned manually with no slipping noted. How is that possible? What should I replace

Good morning Matt, Sounds like it is wired wrong. You can see this if you watch the gears when it is on and off if they stop when it is on then the lead wire is not on the right terminal.

In the T30004R panel with two timers, are both timers the same replacement part? I know the 'low' timer is wired from the breaker and the "high" is piggy-backed onto the first.

Hello I need a timer for a T40003RT3. I am not sure if this is the correct timer, my actual timer box label states the follow: In rainproof (type 3R) enclosure for indoor/outdoor use. Suitable for swimming pool/spa applications and for direct connection of underwater lights. 100AMP. 120/240 VOLT OR 120/208 VOLT SINGLE PHASE (THREE WIRE) AC. IS this the correct one?

Hi. The correct replacement timer mechanism is the T103M which is a 12hr, 120V. We do not have this item available.

This item does not work on the Jandy Aqua Switch J1104R. You will require the Jandy 7152 Timer with Wiring Harness if you don't need the wiring harness then you can go with this Intermatic PB913N66 Timer Only as a replacement for the J1104R.

Model# T104.......probably 20 years old and still looks new. Is it possible for the timer motor gears to spin as seen through the view slot but have the clock wheel never move? If the clock is pulled to set time, all feels perfectly normal...........no binding or ratcheting, etc. Motor is running and spinning it's gear but wheel refuses to move.............GG

I have the PF1202T timer on my pool. The problem I am having is the timer clock moves correctly, but when it gets to the ON or OFF mark it stops and does not make the switch turn ON or OFF. The timer not working is for the pump. I currently manually turn it on and off. I have a sweeper set on auto on the second timer and it is working correctly. Do I need a new timer for the pump?

Hi. You may want to start by replacing the timer trippers. If that does not work then you will need to replace the entire mechanism.

Ok I am a strong believer in simplicity and all these Intermatic timer switches are confusing me.Why do you make a 120V and 220V timers?? Is it for efficiency, the need for more power or simply a stronger application? Do all of the inside timer mechanisms themselves work in all of the Dial boxes no matter what they're rated for? They certainly look like they would being almost identical in site.Anyway I thought I'd ask those questions because I've been looking for the answers for two hours.TYOU

Bear, The reason why there are 2 different voltages is some older homes will only have 115/120v and newer homes will have 230/240v. The internal parts are not the same except for design. The "guts" will be rated for the voltage as well.

I have a T104p3 timer.
I need to replace the board, motor makes sound but clock does not turn.
I picked up a T104M at the local big box store, got it home and it does not have as many lugs as the timer I have.
What is the correct board with 5 lugs across the bottom?

I have the T104 with the heater controls, however I removed the heater a few years ago, it has been completely removed from the plumbing circuit. My timer is having contact issues - the motor works fine but when it trips on, many times the pump will not start unless I flip the manual switch back and forth. Can I replace my unit with the heater controls with this one, since I no longer have any need for it to control the heater?

I have an Intermatic III T104-R pool timer. The cloock does not seem to be running prperly. It runs, but is several hours behing. I turn the pool on manually and it does turn off, but the next day the clock is 3 to 4 hours behing. Do I need to replace the entire timer.

My pump motor is not turning on. The pump motor is good. I checked the power from the breaker to the timer mechanism and it shows 240 volt. However, there is no voltage when I check the two wires going to the motor from the timer. mechanism. The timer mech clock is still working. Is the timer mech bad and need replacement? Is this difficult to install?

Josh, Based on the timer motor model provided, you will need to purchase the T101M - 120V Mechanism which is unable to power a 240 equipment. Either you're mistaken on the motor voltage operation or the timer is not operating the pump.

I found an intermatic timer on your web site. The numbers are slightly different. Numbers on the back are T104 2 27J. The intermatic on the back (attached) has the same numbers, WG1573 5E 208/277 V. Are these interchangable. Overall dimmensions are the same. Hole pattern and white wire appear to be the same.

Hi, Donald. It's hard to say, I can really follow the wires since they're all black. If the timer does not have a load on it and it's tripping the breaker, it is a timer issue.

Hi, my timer has stopped working, however, I can manually flip the switch to start the filter/pump. My timer mechanism is T104P201. My timer motor is WG433-3.

I have a T104R timer but the clock is not moving. I can hear what sounds like the motor operating. I assume the gears are the issue but wanted to verify that I should start with the Timer Mechanism for now.

I have a new pool, so my timer is only about 8 months old. The timing mechanism is not moving, and there is no sound coming from the timer. The manual switch does not turn the pump on. I can move rotate the shaft on my pump, so the pump does not appear to be seized.
The picture I attached shows that the plastic is melted around the one lug on the left with the red wire. I didn't see or hear anything short out, and it doesn't smell like it fried. But, it is melted. Any idea?

The timer could have faulted due to a power or storm surge or bad breaker releasing an over-current to the timer. I would replace the timer mechanism.

I recently replaced a intermatic t104 and wired the same as it was. The reason I replaced was because gears were totally broken and when I did the new timer would not shut off at all even when I turned it off. The timer does have a light switch right under timer box which is not even for the pool light so I was wondering if maybe I can get some help for a solution. Thank you

I'm replacing an old anthony TB220 with the intermatic 104. The old one has 2 screws on the left marked line, and 2 on the right marked load. The 104 is marked line 1 and load 2 on the left and line3 and load 4 on on the right. how do I reconcile the wiring?

My pool cleaner timer has quit working...pretty sure it's the motor as I can turn on the switch manually. In looking at replacement timers Part #T104M, I notice some of them have the RU logo with a number E10694 underneath, others have nothing. My parallel timer which controls my Pool Pump, has the E10694 marking but the one I need to replace for the pool cleaner, does not. Is that a significant issue or not when buying the replacement timer?

Hi Rick, that's not an issue at all. Some have the sticker and some have it stamped on the back of the motor. The more important item to match is the stamped "T104" number on the back towards the upper left. Be sure that number matches with your unit and it will be a perfect replacement. If everything else is working, you can few dollars by getting the Time Clock Motor 208-277V only.
