Can I use an existing Polaris booster pump, with this cleaner?

Yes if you already have a Polaris booster pump you would be able to use your existing booster pump in conjunction with this cleaner. No need to purchase a second booster pump.

What is a booster pump, and where does it attach to?

This cleaner is designated as a pressure side cleaner which means:Pressure Pool Cleaners most pressure cleaners require a booster pump which is typically a ¾ horse power pump that is dedicated for use with the cleaner alone. The booster pump allows you to operate the pressure cleaner without taking any suction away from your main pool pump. The addition of the booster pump does mean pressure cleaners require a more involved installation than either suction or robotic cleaners. The booster pump is installed in tandem with your pool pump.

What is the difference between the Polaris 380 and the Polaris 480?
 Reply

A  Answered on 5/5/2013 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

The main difference between the Polaris 380 and the 480 is the body design and the fact that the 480 has the tank trax. The tack trax is a thick rubber belt that covers the 2 wheel side that gives the cleaner better traction. Also, the Polaris 380 has 3 jets and the 480 has 4. Both require the use of a booster pump (sold separately).

My Polaris sweeper wall fitting is cracked. Can I just order a wall fitting?

You can just order the wall fitting. It is part number 3260-22, or Polaris' number is 10-108-00.

I have a Polaris 380. It was working fine until this year (I've had it for over 8 years). Nothing unusual has happened to it, but when I opened my pool this year and used the Polaris it worked fine for about a week and all of a sudden it started rolling in a tight spiral and now all it does is go in this tight spiral and get the hose all knotted up in a tangle and gets stuck on the hose outlet and it no longer sweeps the pool. Do you know what can cause this and can it be fixed?

Hi Ace, Several things can cause the cleaner to maneuver in a pattern. The tires can be worn, a wheel bearing can be loose or a hose swivel can be bad. You can take the unit to an authorized Zodiac center for inspection.

Hello, It sounds like you will need to disassemble the cleaner and flush the water management system.
