Will this heater work for an 18’ X 35’ in-ground salt water pool? What is the average propane use to increase temperature by 1 degree Fahrenheit?
 Reply

Hi, Steve. This heater can be used to heat a pool of your size at a rate of approximately 1 degree increase an hour using 2.6 gallons of propane.

1. With a 10,500 gallon pool, may I expect 1 degree per hour temperature rise or better? 2. What are the advantages(if any) to plumbing in a bypass valve at the heater?
 Reply

Hi, Dave. A one degree temp increase an hour is possible based on the pumps flow rate. Using a bypass will allow you to regulate the water flow going through the heater. Also, allow you to bypass the heater when not in use extending the heat exchange life.

I have a 30,000 gal pool 20 by 40 in Minnesota, slightly south of twin cities. I am using a salt system. Currently have a natural gas digital copper rp265, need to replace. Inside heater with 7 inch stack. Finished building. Pool is outside. Which model is recommended?

Yes, this would be a good choice based on the information given.

The response states "this is a good choice", but does not state what the choice is. The unit I have is no longer produced. Do you mean the rp266?
