Is there rule of thumb as to how long set of filters should last? What should I be looking for other than the obvious wear and tear to determine if replacement is necessary? Is it best to replace both filters of a S8M150 at the same time?
Current filters are original install, approaching 10 years of year round service.

Good morning Em, There is no really set time for an element. The best way to tell if you need one is. You can look at it .If the bands around it are broken that is one sign. If it looks collapsed or soggy there's another. You can also pressure test it. by running the filter with the element out to see what your operating pressure should be. Then putting the element back in and seeing how much it has raised. If it raises 5psi or more it can be replaced.

My current sta-rite filters are catalog numbers 25201-0222 and 25022-0222. What is the new part number for direct replacements for these two cartridge filters.

What size of particle will this filter allow to pass?
1 micron?

This filter doesn't have a specific micron rating. However, a normal cartridge filter will filter out between 5 and 20 microns.

My OEM filter PNs are 25022-0228S and 25022-0225S and the filter model is S8M600
Will this fit?

Hi, Eric. It appears that the parts for your original model are no longer available. You can use the S8M150 cartridges, however, you may have to replace the Elbow and Bulkhead Assembly - 25021-0100.

I have the Sta Rite System 3 S8M150 filter system. Are there generic brand replacement filters available? OEM replacements are quite expensive.

Hi, We do not currently have the S8M600 Cartridges in stock. However, the S8M600 Large Cartridge 25022-0228S will identify/interchange with the Sta-Rite System3 Modular Media S8M150 259 Sq Ft. Outer Replacement Cartridge - 250220203S and the S8M600 Small Cartridge 1 25021-0225S will identify/interchange with the Sta-Rite System3 Modular Media S8M150 191 Sq Ft. Inner Replacement Cartridge - 250210202S. This is a less expensive route then going with the S8M600 cartridges as there are few pleats in these cartridges but you will still get 450 Sq. Ft. of cleaning are which is massive.
