The bottom tank of my Pentair 147411 SMBW 4060 Sheet Molded Fiberglass D.E. Filter Tank with Valve has a crack and is leaking profusely. Are all my fittings, manifolds, and valve easily re-installable if I purchase a replacement bottom tank from you? Are your parts "New" Thanks for a speedy reply. John Hawes drbeejer@earthlink.net

Hello John. The parts are indeed new and from the manufacturer. As far as how "easy" it will be, I can say that the parts will fit on the new bottom. The ease may be the part in question, but they will fit.

Hi! I have a pentair swbm 4024 de filter. The Rotory valve for backwashing has cracked at the copper fitting for the slide handel. I purchased a new one unfortunately it had a bad cage seal & it bound up when we installed it. Also Part of the problem I am having other than needing a new seal is...what do you do to get the Rotory to turn free? I put o-ring lube & it made it worse. I even tried cooking spray (haha) better result. So what do I need to do when I replace it to get it to slide free?

If the rotor valve was replaced then yes we believe the seal is bound up. If the seal got/ is damaged get part # 071720, if it is not damaged put it back in place & use Magic Lube since you used cooking spray that WILL deteriorate the seal we recommend you replace the seal again.

I did replace it...But there turns out to be a big problem with (the smbw 4000 series, & any installed before 2005ish). The manufacturer reformed the cage style seal on the rotary valve to be tapered. Older units are STRAIGHT, & will not take a tapered seal!!! Mine #4024 and #'s 4036, & 4060. All have straight formed filter bases, tapered will not work!...It cuts the seal. Which is what happened. Unfortunately I know 4024 & 4036 are discontinued models. I bought another. But still need slip?

1. Does this bottom tank come with backwash valve? 2. The tie rod is rusted, broken and stucked with the backwash rotary valve, I used several kinds of penetrating oil and still cannot get them seperated, do you have any suggestions? Thanks,

Hi, Charles. Yes, the valve is included. I do not have any other suggestion for getting those two parts separated.

This bottom half will work perfectly with my top half, but I need a new top half also. Do you have them too?

Hi Will the brass rotary valve in this 4000 series work in my 2000 series?

Hi, Tarek for your 2000 Series Filter you will require this 2000 Series Valve which unfortunately is out of stock. 99% of the time the issue with the valve is this 2000 Series Rotor which we do have in stock I would also suggest this 2000 Series Valve Tune Up Kit. If you replace both rotor and tune up kit you should be back in business.
