Hello, Unfortunately, the number you provided only references a valve. I cannot confirm the drain cap is compatible until I have the information on which filter system you have. I have the "Splapool" sand filter pump model number 72713. The drain opening is fine threaded and seems to measure about a 1" opening.should this part fit it?

Hi. This Drain Cap will not fit the Splapool Sand Filter, you will have to replace the entire Drain Plug Assembly - NEP2123.

this appears to be my filter, as mine has the clamp on valve. However, my drain cap is larger than the 1" in the description. Have I misidentified my filter or is there a mistake in the description?

The Drain Cap w/ Gasket - 85826300R000 on Jacuzzi/Carvin CFR/Landslide/Dirtbag/Laser/Sandstorm model filters. (1" FPT (STANDARD FEMALE PIPE THREAD) ACTUAL THREAD DIAMETER: 1-3/16") There is a special note that it may also be replaced by the Cap & Gasket Kit - SX180HG for the following Hayward pool filters: Sand Master, Swim Pro, Pro Series Side Mount sand filters, Pro Series Top Mount sand filters, and E- Series. It is best to provide the filter model number for verification.
