Can you buy just the bolts without buying the whole flange clamp?

The bolts are not sold separately, you may be able to find suitable replacements at a hardware store. If that option does not work then a assembly would need to be purchased.

Hi Stan, The clamp is actually part of the filter so we would need to know which filter you have to know which clamp you need. If you do have a Hayward top mount sand filter like the S166T, S180T, S210T or S244T then the GMX600NM clamp would be the correct clamp.

Will this clamp work on a S244T Pro Series top mount sand filter produced in the 1990's? What about the other parts, will they work to replace parts on the filter sold in the 1990?

Hi B., Yes this is the correct clamp for a Hayward S244T Pro Series Sand Filter. The parts on the Hayward Pro Series Sand Filter Exploded Parts Diagram would be all the correct parts for a S244T sand filter from the 1990's.

Does this part fail often? I replaced the O ring but the filter still leaks from both sides of the flange clamps. You can't see any cracks on the flange clamps but perhaps it is a hairline crack. Could anything else be leaking that would cause water to pour out from the flange clamps?

Hi Mike, This part can fail. Given what you've described the o-ring could have been installed incorrectly. Recheck the o-ring, make sure it's lubricated nd installed properly. Check the tank for any cracks, if it still leaks then replacing the clamp can resolve your problem.

Not necessarily. You may just need to replace the o-ring. Sometimes the clamps expand and will need to be replaced or even just get brittle and break over the years.
