What is the difference between the hayward Northstar pool pump strainer kits with part # spx4000dlt versus spx4000dltb?

Hi Chris, The SPX4000DLTB cover is used if you're using a Biguanide sanitizer and the SPX4000DLT cover is used if you're using chlorine as a sanitizer.

I need a strainer cover kit. My manual says i need a Hayward SPX4000DA but i cannot find it. I was told to use a SPX4000CLO but the locks are too wide on the bottom to sit down and lock. The pool was installed Feb2007. Will the SPX4000DLT work?

Tony, Per the manufacturer, the SPX4000DLT replaces the older SPX4000DA.

Hi Herrera, If your pump lid looks like the lid listed in this Hayward Northstar Parts Diagram (1998 - 2007) then you will need this Hayward Northstar Lid and if your pump looks like the lid listed in this Hayward Northstar Parts Diagram (2008 to Current) then you will require this Hayward Northstar Lid

Which ~7-8" O-ring fits the lid assembly for Hayward Northstar SP4000ZL (circa 2002-2004) - I can't find a diagram for this anywhere
The NorthStar lid o-ring is key 5 on this parts diagram, Hayward NorthStar SP4000 Series Pump (1998-2007).

Hi Lennox, The product you listed is for "2007-current," but the lid assembly combo is "2007 & prior." So I'm confused. It appears there's 2 O-ring: one O-ring somewhere withing the lid assembly (?maybe between the clear and black plastic) and another O-ring between the basket assembly and lid assembly (items #5 on parts diagram). I believe I need the O-ring within the lid assembly which is circa year 2003. Thanks

I have a Hayward Northstar SP4000 pool pump installed in 2001.
I am having trouble with my strainer cover lid sealing properly. I only seem to have 1 O ring. Is that correct? From what I am reading, should there be 3 parts, the lid, the lock ring, and an O ring? Or is the lock ring and the O ring the same part?

Hi Daniel, Yes there are 3 items. The lid, The Lock Ring and The O-ring and you will need all 3 for your pump lid to seal properly.

Hello Jose. The Strainer Cover Kit (2007 & Prior) - SPX4000DLT is compatible with Hayward NorthStar SP4000 Series Pumps manufactured 1998 -2007. The Strainer Cover Kit (New Style 2008 - Current) - SPX4000CLO is compatible with Hayward NorthStar SP4000 Series Pumps manufactured 2008 -current.
