I have a Nautilus Pac Fab NS48. I need a strainer air release. The one I found on line is for a Pentair..is this the same one?

Hi Diane, Yes Pac-Fab was acquired by Pentair so this would be the correct Air Relief Strainer for your Nautilus Pac Fab NS48 pool filter.

Will this strainer fit a Pentair CCP 420? Thank you,

The Air Relief 3/4" Strainer (172855) may not work on the CCP 420 because it comes attached to the Air Bleed Tube Assy F/420 Sq Ft (170028).

I have a NSS48 from the mid 80's. It did not have this strainer on the manifold nor does it have a port. I bought a Pentair manifold with the 3/4 port on top. Should I block off this port or should I use this strainer?

Hi Mark, You will need to use the air relief strainer.

Hi--the diagram for my filter, the 192325 shows the strainer mounted directly on the top. The strainer that came with the assembly will not attach, there is a little nub coming out of the side of the base where the strainer attaches. I see other models that use a short tube, but the diagram for mine does not show a tube. The strainer that came with it is threaded--did they send the wrong strainer, or is it the correct one that I need a tube for???

Hi, Dan. The Air Relief Strainer - 172855 is the correct one. You'll have to get the strainer over the tab so that it stays on.

I have the PentaAir Replacement filter set for the Nautalis 60DE Filter. The Air Relief stainer on the top of the filter is not threaded, it does not screw in but rather push down and rotate 30 degrees. Again the attachment is not screw threads between the top manifold but rather a twist lock. Is this Air Relief Strainer a treaded type or a twist and lock?

Hello, if you have the Pentair Nautilus 60DE filter, then part number 4600-2855 would be the correct replacement part.

Hi, the air strainer on our Nautilus Plus NSP36 has a small hole in it (less than an 1/8 of an inch). Will that impact the efficiency of the filter? It is also flat, rather than rounded. Does that matter?

Hi, Stephanie. That hole can cause DE Powder and debris to get back into the pool. The Strainer style will not matter as long as it will fit.

I have a pentair Quad DE filter 60 (model #188592), the air strainer screen must fit in the top manifold with the spring. I purchased the 3/4 in hole and I could not get it around the tube which is likely 1.5 in or 2 inches. I tried to cut the inside to fit but then it still did not fit within the top manifold opening the screen was too wide. Any recommendations for a replacement?

the strainer fits around the PVC pipe that extends from the base. You are not able to get the strainer over the PVC pipe? The diameter of the pipe is less than 1".

We show the correct part # for the strainer to be 170029, it comes on the actual tube it sits on. You remove the strainer from the tube & it will go thru the bottom of the top manifold, then re-apply the strainer to the tube. It is not critical that the strainer is centered on the manifold or even mounted in a fixed position, it just tends to fall over or lean over when it is not mounted to the manifold.
