is this an automatic air relife valve I have the old style now on my filter system [ s7m120 ] with a hose running down into the water in my pool to get the air out of the tank does this work on its own ?

My Sta-Rite PTM100 has two ports on top, labelled "gauge" and "air relief". Will this item fit one of these ports?
