What is Service Factor?

Service Factor(SF) is a multiplier that when multiplied by the horsepower of the motor indicates the total permissible horsepower loading that may be carried when the motor is operating at rated voltage and frequency. The most important thing to remember when replacing a motor is that the replacement motor's horsepower times its service factor must be equal to or greater than the original motor's horsepower times its service factor. The Service Factor rating can be found on the motor label. See Step 4 of our How to Read a Pool Motor Label guide.

I purchased a Pentair Pump Model No. 355007 in 2012 and the motor needs to be replaced. Electronics are all still functional. What replacement motor should I purchase?

Hi Chris, The 3.2KW PMSM VFD Motor (350105S) would be the correct motor.

I have Pentair Intelliflo vs + SVRS pump which needs a motor replacement. The pump was installed in 2009. The motor is 3.2 kW, 230 volt. Can you suggest correct part number if you carry in your stock and cost, shipping to 77479 zip code.

I have a #355007 Variable speed motor that has the front aluminum mount wasting away, do you recondition these motors?
Looks like the mount holds the font bearing of the motor.

Hello, I have the Pentair Intelliflo 4x160 and keeps shutting down randomly. The led flashes 9 times meaning a Voltage issue-Can it be the Pump that went bad or maybe the Computerized Drive on top? Thanks..

Hi, AJ. If you've confirmed that the issue is not caused by the input power supply, the issue could be the drive. You may have to do some troubleshooting with Pentair Tech Support @ 800.831.7133 to confirm.

I have a Pentair IntelliFlo variable speed P/N 342000 PMP SUPERFLO VS. the motor is on and spinning; but, there is no suction. should i REPLACE THE MOTOR? If so what motor? Purchased 11/3/2014. I don't know if its 2 speed or 3 speed.

The motor may not be the issue, there could be an air leak compromising the suction force of your pump. I want to replace my pentair single speed 340038 with a VS. Is this the right motor and if so what parts do I need to go with it for the replacement? How do I connect it to my intellitouch panel to control the speed and schedule? Thanks!
Hello. The Pentair Pool Products IntelliFlo Motor 350105S is not intended as a conversion variable speed motor. The Motor/Drive Assy 353132S can be utilized as the conversion assembly. The impeller and diffuser from your SuperFlo could technically be used on the SuperFlo VS Motor/Drive Assembly, but will not provide the full benefit of the conversion. The impeller and diffuser should be upgraded, the seals and gaskets replaced, the communication cable 353129Z provides the means to connect to the Pentair Intellitouch. Attached please find an exploded parts diagram for the Pentair SuperFlo VS Pump. Pentair SuperFlo VS Pump - 342001 The purchase of a SuperFlo VS Pump EC-342001 would provide the drop-in replacement option complete with a communication cable.
