How often I have to change the sand in the filter?

Manuel-  Generally you would change the sand in your Jacuzzi Laser 19" Sand filter every 4-7 years depending on location and how dirty the pool actually gets.

I currently have a waterway 1 1/2 hp cartridge filter system.. Above ground 17509 gal pool..it's 6 years old. Last summer pool was a struggle to keep clean.. Was thinking about getting a sand filter.. Do u recommend sand filter is better then the cartridge ??

Hi Anthony, Actually cartridge filter will filter the water better than sand filters. However sand filter are very low maintenance compare to a cartridge filter.

I pump filter does not fill up with water. No leaks. I was vacuuming the pool when this happened.

If the issue only arises when you are using a vacuum hose, there is likely a pinhole air leak in the hose. To check for hose leaks, cap the ends of the vacuum hose then submerge it. If the there is a leak, the escaping air bubbles will show you where.

Can I use this set up on an 8000 gal. above ground ?From what I understand this would turn the pool over twice in eight hours.
 Reply

Hi Tom, Yes this setup would be perfect for a pool that is only 8,000 gallons. You are 100% correct that this equipment package will turn over the pool twice in one standard eight hour run time cycle.

Will this system work for a 28' round, above ground pool. Is everything included because we have our pool system set up and I would like to switch them as easily as possible.

Hi Heather, Yes this setup is good for a 28' round pool, you would just need to supply the sand.

Hi, This system will be too much for a 2,000 gallon pool, I recommend the Hayward VL Series Sand Filter Systems - VL40T32.
