we only need a twelve foot reel, can you adjust this reel down to twelve feet and how would you do it?

Yes you can, the tubes are telescoping so you'll be able to adjust it to fit your size pool.

Can this be mounted to the top rail of a 14x28' rectangle pool? I would just like to screw it to the top rail of my pool during the season to take the solar cover on and off each day. Thank you.

Hi Rob, The 16' Wide Max SolarGuard Reel is not recommended for above ground pools. The A/G Pool Solar Reel Up To 28' Round / Oval (NS966) would be solar reel needed.

Are the holes in the tube where you attach the straps already drilled or do you have to drill them?

You will not need to drill holes in the tube when you are attaching the straps. The reel includes the hardware with self drilling screws.

This question concerns "assemble ends>" It says to insert 1 self-drilling screw through the tube in line with bump on plug rim 1" from tube end - repeat other end. The picture in the direction sheet show a reel attached to a stand not one with wheels. Are those instructions also for the reel that uses wheels???
Reply
Yes, those instructions are for a few different solar reels that are very similar when it comes to assembling them.

Someone asked about the 14 mil already, but I just want to be sure. I have a 16 x 32 in-ground pool. Will this reel hold the 16 mil 16 x 32 blanket?

Hi, Patrick. This SolarGuard Reel will not support a 16' x 32' 16-MIL cover.
