Would this pump work for a pond fountain? If yes, how many gph?
 Reply

A  Answered on 6/2/2015 by InyoPools Product Specialist Brian M.

This pump would work for a fountain. You would just have to clean the basket when debris gets in. The Gallons Per Minute are best represented here with this chart.  There would some other variable such as plumbing size and how far away the pump is ( Total Dynamic Head ) .

How much would you save on energy over standard pool pump? Could you mail the pump through the US post office?
 Reply

A  Answered on 5/26/2016 by InyoPools Product Specialist Alan M.

Hello Mike, This pump will lower your operating cost up to 80% of what you currently spend to run your pool. There is no specific answer to "How much would you save on energy?" as there is no "standard" to any pool pump. If you require additional information on the Badu EcoM3 1 HP 3 Speed Pool Pump, you can visit or contact Speck by clicking on the link. we only ship via UPS and not through the US Postal Service.

I have the Badu EcoM3 1HP 3 speed Pool Pump. The control panel with the 3 speeds has deteriorated and I can no longer change the settings. Always on low. The sun ruined the control panel. I need a new one and cannot find a part number. The second question is there anyway to have the medium speed on permanently? How about the remote control for this pump? Virgil

Hi Virgil, The motor along with the remote for this pump is not available as a replacement.

1) I don't see the energy star associated with this product. Does this mean is does not qualify for true energy star savings? 2) Is the difference between the 3M and 3MV that the 3M has 3 preset speeds and the 3MV can be set at a range of speeds that the owner determines? Thank you
 Reply

A  Answered on 7/2/2016 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi JB, This pump is "Energy Star" rated according to the Speck Energy Star Pumps. The difference between the EcoM3 and EcoM3 V is the sophistication of the controls. The EcoM3 only has (3) preset speed and the EcoM3 V you can set the speed of the pump.

How loud is the Bado EcoM3 at the three different speeds? Do you have any indication of decibels?

A  Answered on 4/16/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Scott W.

You will need to call Speck for a decibel rating, but that pump is quite on all three speeds.

Hi, I have a Marathon electric Variable speed pump m/n imPower 5SME29DFT001 which is a 1 hp 3450 rpm (max) 208-230VAC pump. It was recently badly stressed during a lightning storm in the Upstate of SC and is basically toast. I need a replacement pump. Your Speck Badu EcoM3 Pool Pump PART # 2092136013 is on sale right now. I think we have a 2-1/2 inlet line and we have a DE filter downstream. With that info can you tell me if your Speck Badu pump is a reasonable replacement ? Thx --- John

Hi, John. This pump is no longer available and has been replaced with the Badu EcoM3 V 1.65 THP - IG135-V165T-000.

I own a 2 solar panel powered BADU TOP .75 HP 10 Amp 3 x 13-45 Lorentz controlled in-ground 32,00 gallon pool circulation pumping system. Back up is and A/C Hayward 1 1/2 HP pump. The motor is getting noisy and would like to replace it soon. Is their a replacement available. I have attached photos of the motor data plate, controller and pump & housing assembly

A  Answered on 5/23/2019 by InyoPools Product Specialist Megan C.

Hi Frank, This pump was a partnership between Speck and Lorentz which broke up 6 or 7 years ago. I would suggest reach out to Speck Pump directly to see if they have a replacement motor. Speck does not sell direct to the public but we can provided you with any of the parts they suggest. Click Here for Speck Pumps Contact Information.

HI Frank. I have the very same setup from Lorentz. Did they give you any solutions? I need to replace my pump soon and I'm hoping for a better solution other than a whole other setup because this set up was not cheap to begin with.

Hi I have the same pump Frank has and It's getting pretty loud too and would like to see about replacing my motor. What options did Frank get for his Speck 90 pump? I have the exact same set up from Lorentz.
